A wonderful little hotel a short walk to the centre of Faro. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast every day on a cute rooftop terrace. A perfect base for exploring the Algarve.

Petit hôtel bien situé près du vieux centre ville de Faro. Bon accueil par l'hôtel, avec bons conseils de restaurants près de l'hôtel. Chambre simple mais propre et fonctionnelle. Un peu bruyante (travaux à proximité) et couloir un peu bruyant.

This was a great place to stay for 1 night before heading back home from the Faro airport. The room and bathroom were both small but it was clean and comfortable. Our room had its own small terrace and there was a very nice rooftop terrace to enjoy the sunset. We left early so did not have breakfast but the breakfast room was very nice. This is well located at the old town and everything was within walking distance. There is free parking near the accommodation that was very busy but we found one of the few available spots. The Faro airport is about 15 minutes away. I would recommend Sunlight House.

Awesome stay! The rooms are small, but comfortable. The staff at breakfast were always friendly, a little tip if you like sauce … bring your own! The breakfast is delicious but there’s no hot sauce or ketchup. Would love to go back!

Convenient and friendly

Sunlight House was compact but clean and comfortable. Good for short stays. The breakfast on the terrace was excellent, and the service was friendly. Very convenient location. Parking was limited during our stay due to the town festival. Would suggest checking in advance if you will need parking.

Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms are quaint a little tight (but that is to be expected of a European hotel). Our only complaint is that the walls were a little thin so we could easily hear guests coming and going. However for the most part people were pretty quite.

The management was very helpful. We arrived late and couldn't get a cab from the train station so they called a cab for us which was very helpful. Located in the old district of the town,which was good.

The only thing I can find fault with is this. The house is advertised as a B&B but I was asked to pay for breakfast upon arrival 10 Euros. I prefered to walk to the marina for a restaurant breakfast

Highly recommended for an overnight stop

We had a single night in Sunlight House between landing at the airport and travelling onwards from Faro station. Sunlight House is in the perfect place to explore the old town on foot and be able to walk to the station. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved being given a map and recommendations, and eating breakfast on the roof terrace. It was so helpful that they were able to look after our luggage. The room was basic, but that's what we paid for.

Disappointing for the price

We enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely The room was the most expensive on our 2 week trip and the smallest and a bit claustrophobic as a view onto at white wall which was disappointing. Ok for one night. Breakfast area in the roof was lovely but no real choice for breakfast It was ok but not as good as other places we stayed. Thank you for the welcome and stay in a nice area. Some things to consider to improve though. The staff were very nice though Thanks

Great location, friendly staff

This was a lovely B&B, with facilities and a rooftop terrace. The B&B is spotless, well serviced and the breakfast was very good. Just make sure you let them know any dietary needs in advance. WiFi was fine. No TV in the room but we were fine with this. In a really good location in the Old town with several bars and restaurants a few hundred metres away. Staff really friendly, they also provided us with a packed breakfast on our last day as we had an early start. Great price and location. Would stay again.

What a great place. A 3 minute walk from the FlixBus stop and 5 minutes to the Old Town. We stayed here for 4 nights and couldn’t have been happier with everything. The staff is sweet helpful - providing directions, recommendations and much needed assistance with our future plans. We were Able to use the kitchen / terrace to eat dinner and relax. My only comment is that the toiletries need updating. Shampoo packages should be replaced with wall dispenser as they were impossible to open and not environmental. Otherwise perfection!

Perfect location. Unfortunately, the room smelled so strongly of mildew and mold that I had an asthma attack and had to leave within 1 hour of checking in. The reception was completely unhelpful and said I was not entitled to any refund after pre-paying for three days. The receptionist even denied there was any mildew / mold and blamed me by saying I didn’t know what it was like living next to the ocean and that it is normal to have moisture in the room. (I am from Atlantic Canada, where I lived directly beside the ocean for many years, and never had to deal with this mold.) Expedia is working on this issue for me.

The room was very small. It was a room with bunk beds but there were no chairs to use. The room was tiny. The photograph of the room did not indicate how small it was.

Sunshine people at sunlight house

Brilliant location. Iris is a lovely spacious apartment. We arrived very late due to flight delays and the staff could not have been more helpful in staying open for us. Very warm welcome and great advice on things to do. Rooftop terrace and dining area is truly stunning and the restaurant staff could not have been friendlier and served us some delicious food at breakfast. Only small thing to be aware of is that the hall of Faro centre basically sits underneath the flight path for the airport and as such some aircraft noise is unavoidable but that does not just relate to this property, it would be relevant anywhere in central Faro.

It may be a common thing in hostels, but there was so much noise at night with guests coming home very late, very excited, shouting in the hallway... somehow there should be better insulation of the doors, and the common walls. Apart from that, all was very nice, rooftop terrace beautiful, breakfast amazing, staff very kind (reception and breakfast)!
