A nice gem in a gem of a city

Very conveniently located near the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, this hotel is a nice hidden deal. While the 19 steps to get into the lobby are a bit steep for someone with a heavy bag, there is an elevator for getting to your room from there. The bedding is plain, even dated, but warm in winter.

Close to square and daily excursions and within walking distance to some great restaurants. I chose breakfast option with booking with Expedia but the desk person said we were not entitled to breakfast. It was a little embarrassing when approached as making a plate. Other than that, it was enjoyable stay.

First of all, the staff are super nice and very helpful. They genuinely want to make your visit to Florence enjoyable. The location couldn't be better. Very close to the train station, a two minute walk to the tram that goes right to the airport and so close to all the monuments, museums, restaurants and shops. The rooms are perfect for dropping your bags and exploring the city. They are typical of a major international city - not huge but they have fully equipped bathrooms, lots of towels, comfy beds, mini-fridges, etc. Great value in an excellent location. Very safe.

Great location, good value for the price. We travelled late October and it was very warm in our room. As far as we understood, there is no AC only a fan, opening the windows was not really an option due to the zanzare. There were some death moscitos on the walls. So the people before must also have been on the hunt. It was already mentioned that there are some stairs to get to the elevator. So for elderlies or handicapped it might be a little hassle. However, the building is very old and very charming.

Excellent location. A few minutes walk from the train station. A few minutes walk to Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the main shopping area. Room is clean, but dark. Noisy at night because our room is close to the street. The bathroom needs to be upgraded. The shower room is just a corner of the bathroom with a shower curtain and a drain. We have to clean up the water every time after the shower as the floor gets so wet regardless how careful you showed. The breakfast is so-so with limited selections. It is nice that the hotel puts a bottle of wine in the fridge for us to enjoy for free. We don’t drink but appreciate the offering.

Great little hotel! The room was excellent, it was affordable, breakfast was really great! And unlike apparently every other hotel in Italy, the wifi worked and was fast and rock solid. You should stay here!!
