"Such a classic Tuscany location. Beautiful old Watermill turned into a hotel so it is very rustic. Cell phone service on the area is not good but WiFi seemed fine. Pools were nice but not too big and not a lot of space to accommodate all guests. Enjoyed the breakfast. Staff were helpful. "
"We loved our stay here. The views are beautiful and staff is very accommodating. They even opened the restaurant early to accommodate for our young daughter. The restaurant was also amazing! Thank you very much for having us"
"It is an amazing location nested among wineries and rolling hills. If you like a quiet and sophisticated location this is your ideal place. You will need a car to move around but, you will be rewarded by the view and the opportunities for wine tastings and small villages visits. "
"Monica was the friendliest most enthusiastic host we’ve stayed with. Everything from her greeting to the amazing breakfast was perfect. She does a lot of baking, so the breakfast was really a treat and you could also get eggs cooked in various ways. The room was a little small but very comfortable. Parking was on the street, but it was fairly close and easy."
"It was wonderful to stay in a castle in Tuscany no less Every person we met was attentive and kind We were staying near friends and didn’t hang around the grounds much or use the pool but everything seemed well kept It’s really a place to retreat to eat at and sleep at which served our purpose well "
"The pool area and views were amazing. Also the food was excellent and the ambiance and experience was mesmerizing. We will travel to this location again!!"

"We stayed here Aug 2025, coming in from Florence. Siena is absolutely gorgeous and Hotel Athena was the perfect hotel to explore the area. The hotel itself was very nice, updated, good sized rooms with nice bathroom. Tea kettle in the room and water in the fridge (at no extra cost) was appreciated after long days on the hills of the town. We dined at the rooftop restaurant twice and the food was excellent, views were unbelievable.
As to the hotel staff- I can’t give them enough stars! The front desk staff were so welcoming and helped us arrange a day tour, figure out our return to the train station etc. The restaurant staff was also very good and always checked on us.
Oh- the breakfast buffet can’t be missed. Well worth it and no extra charge.
Excellent hotel- highly recommend "
"Great place to stay with children in Florence. Cabins are comfortable with air con and parking is right outside. The swimming pools offer a chance to cool off and relax after a day of sight-seeing, which is easily accessible by local bus from right outside the holiday camp. Breakfasts offer good selection and a pleasant, relaxed dining area. The same place offers evening meals and a well stocked bar. Overall, a very relaxing and enjoyable short stay which didn't feel like it was on the outskirts of such a major city. We would defintely stay there again."
"Breakfast with amazing view on the terrace.
Fresh homemade bread, butter, coffee and we with my sister were in love with the spinach pie.
To be honest, we were very upset stay short time in this beautiful place and decided comeback for longer time. We were sleep as a baby, good quality linen, towels and the shower with highly water pressure. peace and quiet made us calmed and so relaxed. Good place for slow relaxation. "
"service was great, they helped us plan our time there and the city of Sienna was fantastic. The hotel is outside the main area but 1-2 minutes away in a great location"
