It was great to use the spa facilities after a day out exploring. The train station is nearby as is the cable car so was nice to use either modes of transport down to Lauterbrunnen and to Schiltorn. "This hotel is on one end of the several blocks long high mountain village of Murren. To get to the village from Lauterbrunnen it is most convenient to use the postbus and then the aerial cableway that continues on to the Piz Gloria. Travel one stop to Murren on this large safe aerial car. The Alpenrue hotel is next to the station. There. Is very little noise from the cableway and none at night. We had 3 excellent breakfasts; croissants, cheese, meat, coffee and juice. Wonderful ! We also had 2 dinners and and an Irish coffee on the public balcony overlooking the alps. The staff were helpful, spoke English and were attentive. The village grocery and many interesting shops were on the level and an easy walk from hotel. Our room was very recently renovated and looked brand new. It was spacious with a magnificent balcony overlooking the mountains. We had a wonderful time in Murren and the Alpenrue. PS. You do not have to be young and fit to enjoy this destination. Reserve today !!"
