Room and balcony were extremely small. No iron and no ironing board. Terrible pillows. Way too many insects inside the toom. Coffee machine is only for instant coffee. Staff lied about the restaurant reservations, as we could not go to any restaurants, so all we could eat was just buffet food wich was simply put...horrible! Water in the pools was cold. Cheap drinks. Extremely disappointed. Please stay away from this property.

Not Adult only section
My biggest complaint about the hotel is that there were specific adult only sections and they did not enforce nor were they consistent with the actual adult only section not only were children allowed to stay in the building they were allowed in the Jacuzzi, where it was specifically posted that only adults were allowed in as well as the spa area. The Hotel did have posted signs all over the place, stating where children were allowed to go however, none of the staff actually enforced until they were asked to do so. Also, this hotel is mainly for Nordic country Europeans, and that was made very prevalent multiple times by different staff members when we were question as to why we were there or if we truly were staying at the hotel Lastly, the food in the all inclusive is not worth it, you can get better food outside of the hotel for cheaper prices.

If I could give no stars to this place I would, but the 1 star goes to some of the staff like Sarah who was kind & accommodating. Besides that it was not a positive stay and the food was sub-par. My fiancée had a burn accident with the soup they were serving and ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns. They don’t put caution signs or hot labels. No one ever checked on us or tried to help assist when he got burned. They said they only allow staff members to use first aide kits, didnt have a doctor come onsite, & just called us a taxi for the hospital. If he would have had some assistance & cold water immediately we wouldn’t have had a $600 doctor bill! It ruined the rest of our trip because we couldnt do anything in water or excursions. The rooms are basic & have funny smells. The A/C in the rooms dont work well & the shower water fills up over your feet while your showering & the drain takes about 12-15 mins to drain the water out. Oh & when asked to speak with a manager they kept saying he wasn’t available until the very last day right before we were traveling home! Thanks again for your terrible service and treatment. If you’re American, stay away from this place!

Family Trip turned Couples Getaway
We originally booked this trip as a family vacation but with some last-minute changes, we were able to go away, just me and my husband. We made this decision about 2 weeks before our trip and every time we called the head office of RIU they gave us an incredibly hard time when trying to change the booking (I had paid for last-minute cancellation so it shouldn't have been a problem). They refused to guarantee us that the change could be made meaning we would be paying for our daughter even though she wasn't coming. We were very annoyed but, decided to deal with it when we arrived at the hotel. I am SO SO pleased to say that the hotel staff immediately made the change without any difficulty or questioning or anything. They were so accommodating and made us very happy right away without any hassle. Right away the trip started great, we were very thankful for this save in money. Otherwise, the hotel is exactly as advertised. It is a 4-star so the food was good but not great. The specialty restaurants only offered a few changes in the menu except for their Asian restaurant which was completely different food than the normal buffet and a pleasant suprise. The rooms were clean, bathrooms updated but, beds were not super comfortable but it didn't disrupt us much. The pools were all fantastic, the entertainment was great, super family-oriented, and workouts by the pool and in the pool were fun. Overall a great hotel for the price, I would definitely go back!

It was a lovely hotel grounds were kept lovely, rooms were very clean and were kept very clean throughout our stay. Entertainment was good as was the kids club. Great choice of food in the main buffet area but was a little disappointed with the Asian and grill restaurant. Also would have been nice to have had a choice of ice cream around the pool area this wasn’t available in all inclusive. Overall a lovely holiday, nice hotel very friendly staff and so helpful. Would definitely return again.

Paid to share a (pricey) Room with Cockroaches!
This was an extra treat for my daughter & I. A couple of days All Inclusive - our preferred accommodation - in the middle of a week at a HB hotel. Room was lovely on arrival with it's Swim Up pool in the Adults Only area. It did have an open view on to the public promenade with very low bushes, so we did feel like we were on show to everyone who passed. But view across the sea and watching the sun set was worth the price. However, sharing both nights with multiple cockroaches wasn't!! 1st night, returning from dinner, we were greeted by 2 cockroaches. We contacted reception immediately but it took them 10 minutes to send housekeeping. She found, killed and disposed of one, but as she couldnt find the 2nd one, left. Then out pops the 2nd one, and we had to kill it ourselves. NOT a good night's sleep ensued this unexpectedly horiffic experience. Initially we wanted to change rooms but they didn't have of our type available, so we opted to stay. Tino at Reception was very apologetic the next morning and sent over a bottle of sparkling wine and note of apology. We did see a (dead) cockroach as we left the Dining venue where we had dinner. That night, we appeared to have no further visitors after numerous checks. However, the next morning as i was checking the fridge, I opened the cupboard door to nearly jump out of my skin when there's another one sitting in the fridge handle!! Spraying like crazy led to another dead one, but really?! Also, no room service at all?

Nice hotel in a very touristic area Big onsite parking - you always have a place. The hotel is slightly outdated (needs a reform) It gets quite fully booked. Food was good and tasty in the buffet with quite a variety! Good one was the asian restaurant - but difficult to get reservation. The entertainment was really nice as well. From the down points is that at 8am in the morning all the sunbeds in infinity pool were always already taken and unfortunately there is no regulation for leaving a towel on sunbeds for whole day. Maybe would be good to get thats somehow controlled. Thank you.

All in all i would give a 4.5 - great location we visited at the begining of july there, definetly have everything in the hotel area, so you dont really need to go out for anything besides local attractions. perfect for a relaxing week with unlimited alcohol. The staff are very friendly, food is ok just getting tired of it after a while being almost the same. very quite even with families in it, you get the adult pool section where you can keep you distance in case it bothers you which was perfect with the view. I do think the room could use a renovation - the pillows felt old and done, and the mattress on the one side had kind of a big dent sinking in. Room service was perfect, we went for breakfast ususally around 8:30-9:00 and by the time we came back the room was already made up also very quite we couldnt hear outside noises when sleeping so we loved it. The hotel brings medical team for 1 hour a day usually 13:00-14:00 for pcr/antigen tests (antigen 35euro) so you dont need to go anywhere. felt very safe with covid since they always sanitized everything and cleaned it all after each use. Sun beds by the pool gets taken early by putting a towel on them, take in mind in case you want to sit close to the water, not ideal but it is what it is just put your towel there on your way to breakfast.

Great location and all the staff are extremely helpful/friendly. The food was okay (a little lacking in seasoning) and they could use a few hot tubs. The views from the hotel were amazing for sunsets.

Excellent location and services
Great location right on the beach front, close to sand dunes and shops. Food was exceptional in all the restaurants and constantly changing. Staff always smiling and happy. Night time outside music entertainment great. Tours can be arranged at the hotel front desk or the tour kiosk. Excellent experience.

Great Stay
We are a family of 4 with twin boys aged 6. The Riu club for the boys was excellent. The food was also excellent, and the reception staff were so helpful and friendly they made you feel extremely welcome. The only downside was the view from our room was that of a rubbish cart. I have to say it didn't spoil our holiday we just didn't sit out on the balcony!

A nice week at Riu Gran Canaria
Great location, great pools and very nice staff that was service minded. The food was good and the selection was reasonable, but only buffets and all resturants except one, had the same food. 2-3 bar areas with good Aperol Sprits but the selection of wines and alcohols could be better.
