Upon entering this charming traditional lakeland cottage from the rear, you will find a welcoming farmhouse-style kitchen/dining area with a wonderful stone fire surround, Belfast sink and all the modern conveniences required to ensure a comfortable stay. There is a further feature fireplace in the cosy living room with plenty of seating as well as a Smart TV. The first floor is home to a large master bedroom with uninterrupted views over Morecambe Bay. A spacious single bedroom is across the landing. A traditional bathroom with bath, overhead rainfall shower, sink inset into a vanity unit, and toilet can also be found on this floor. The property features a south-facing patio area, ideal for enjoying a morning coffee or your favourite drink on a warm sunny day.
The cottage is situated in the small village of Allithwaite and is just a stone’s throw from the local pub serving delicious food and drink, and the local corner shop. The Edwardian seaside town of Grange-over-Sands is walkable if you’re inclined to explore on foot, or a mere 10-minute drive. The neighbouring village of Cartmel, with its 12th-century priory and racecourse, is also just under 2 miles away. Almond Cottage is the ideal holiday home for visiting the Lake District National Park. You are not far from any of the main routes around the Lakes, and Lake Windermere is only 9 miles away. Other nearby places include Holker Hall, Sizergh Castle, Grizedale Forest and the Lakeland Motor Museum. Kendal, Bowness and Windermere are 30 minutes away. Skydiving Northwest is in Flookburgh, 2½ miles away, and Grange-over-Sands offers golf. Cycle trails such as the Cartmel Cycle Loop are popular. Train links serve Kents Bank, Grange-over-Sands, Arnside, Silverdale (for RSPB Leighton Moss), Ulverston, for its market town with cobbled streets and appealing shops, and Lancaster, for its busy, student vibe. There is a village shop ¼ mile away and Grange-over-Sands has a wide range of amenities, along with the promenade and ornamental gardens. Whether you enjoy biking, hiking, water sports or shopping, or simply taking in the magnificent scenery of the mountains and lakes, Almond Cottage is an ideal location to achieve all of this. Enjoyed a 2 day break at Almond Cottage. Enjoyed our stay. A very nice pub the Pheasant nearby and well within walking distance. Just yards away. Good food and friendly staff.

The 1905 property has been delightfully renovated and decorated very thoughtfully. It is warm and clean with excellent shower over bath. Seating comfortable and whilst small, roomy in layout. The stairs are steep; there is a step from main bedroom to bathroom. From this bedroom there are far reaching views over Morecambe Bay. Biggest bugbear is parking; also the road is on a bend with no pedestrian pavement so great care is needed; care is needed pulling up to unload on a slope.
