"The staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. The food was very good. The hotel is very comfortable, well furnished and very quiet being a little remote. No outside noise and very little noise inside the hotel even with coach parties staying over. Looking forward to my next visit."

"This stay should have been great. The house itself is huge, each of the rooms are unique and there are gorgeous views. Unfortunately, we had an issue with the hot tub being dirty and the maintenance company and host were very apologetic, but nothing was actually done about it and I have had to complain directly to VRBO. The overall cleanliness of the property wasn’t great but we could have overlooked that as it’s quite a large property so I understand how areas may have been missed. Shame as the property has great potential, just let down by the overall maintenance and lack of quick resolution. "

"The photos do not do this space justice - it is perfect for hosting large groups / families and being able to unwind in a relaxing environment.The hot tub was great, and the log burner was also a brilliant touch.We did notice some pet hair (not ours) which allergy sufferers had issue with, however we were able to clean with the tools provided.Great access to local walks."

"The apartment itself was immaculately clean, well-furnished and spacious. The kitchen is much better equipped than most rentals, with many appliances, kitchenware, staples and even knives that are actually sharp!Location-wise, it’s very convenient—just off the M6, but in a small village and under 40 minutes from the main Lake District towns.The host was proactive and responsive in communications.Because it is a historic building, the central heating is a bit limited. We visited in early April with temperatures in the low single figures and found we had to use the provided supplementary heaters. It can be a bit chilly initially, particularly if you're returning/arriving late, so it just requires a little extra management.Overall: A lovely, well-equipped base for a large family. We would definitely stay again!"

"Rural location but easy to find, secure car parking and plenty of space. Lovely clean rooms and bathrooms finished beautifully with great showers. Downstairs bedroom/shower room was perfect for elderly father who came with us.Only minor feedback which would have given 5* - similar priced rentals in other places provided a hamper on arrival and there were no terrestrial TV channels, the duvets were a little thin. It was very cold when we arrived but warmed up nicely with all the heaters on. "
