"Loved this atmospheric old house. Everything was spotless with comfy beds and plenty of books and DVDs. Great to be able to walk to the village for food and exploration. Hotel pool (20 mins away) was okay. Note that it's mostly very deep (apart from a paddling pool) so not so suitable if you have under 8s that aren't confident swimmers."

"The photos do not do this space justice - it is perfect for hosting large groups / families and being able to unwind in a relaxing environment.The hot tub was great, and the log burner was also a brilliant touch.We did notice some pet hair (not ours) which allergy sufferers had issue with, however we were able to clean with the tools provided.Great access to local walks."

"The apartment itself was immaculately clean, well-furnished and spacious. The kitchen is much better equipped than most rentals, with many appliances, kitchenware, staples and even knives that are actually sharp!Location-wise, it’s very convenient—just off the M6, but in a small village and under 40 minutes from the main Lake District towns.The host was proactive and responsive in communications.Because it is a historic building, the central heating is a bit limited. We visited in early April with temperatures in the low single figures and found we had to use the provided supplementary heaters. It can be a bit chilly initially, particularly if you're returning/arriving late, so it just requires a little extra management.Overall: A lovely, well-equipped base for a large family. We would definitely stay again!"

"It's in a remote location which is nice if you want to get away from it all. Good value. The sat navigation took us down a very potholed road but the road on the other side was in better condition so just something to be aware of. Characterful hotel, particularly the foyer. The breakfast was ok, very filling. Service was a bit chaotic with no plates when we arrived so had to wait. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff were welcoming. The games room has seen better days. "

"We enjoyed our holiday, cottage very warm and cosy with heating floors, plenty of room for family. Beautiful views and very quiet just next to the river. Cottage is in the farm in the middle of mountains, lots of animals, nice to walk around. I loved conservatory and private and secured garden for dogs to run. The bedding was clean and bed very comfortable, towels, smart Tv, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing mashine, cooker. We had everything what we needed to feel comfortable. It was not far away to travel to see Aira force water fall. I would definitely come back again. Thank you for nice stay"

"The accommodation was very spacious but cozy. Log burner was a real treat. The beds were very comfortable (better than home). Kitchen had everything we needed. Village is adorable. The pub was friendly and food was good. Walks right from the front door. "
