"We got the room with the private onsen spa. We had just gotten engaged and the room and facilities were absolutely gorgeous and romantic. Everything was very clean and aesthetic, and the staff was very helpful. Would love to come stay again in the winter, or at least when the facade is finished!"

"Absolutely delightful hotel: helpful staff, clean, comfortable, huge room, wonderful food, free tea/coffee/alcohol whenever you like, japanese robe and towels included. The private onsen was so lovely - don’t be fooled by the photos, it was clean as a whistle, just stained by the minerals in the water. Absolutely enormous amount of all sorts of strange and delicious food for both dinner and breakfast. I’m staying in hostels pretty much every night of my holiday in Japan but wanted to spend one night having an affordable ryokan experience: this place was by far the cheapest in the Hakone area but I can’t see how it could have been better. Adding be put off by its location, it’s a short very easy bus ride from Lake Biwa; it’s also right next door to a 24 hour convenience store. "

"Beautiful scenery, super close- walking distance to ride a gondola to a major world renowned attraction (volcano). Super baby and kid friendly; we got a balcony room facing the lake which allowed us to open the screened door to get fresh air. The onsen was clean and in excellent condition; lots of quality amenities. Buffets were generous and quality as well. They had an unlimited sake, whiskey, wine, beer bar plus all the juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee you want. The coffee was meh; worse than Keurig, but the Japanese teas were very fine. There were so many food options it is a little overwhelming but I think it would be nice to have a guide to introduce people to how you would do a curated kaiseki meal by course; so folks can enjoy some of that experience. "

"Amazing view and location with its own elevator to the ropeway and cable car station. Over the top service. Book the private Onsean and definitely do the dinner for an authentic traditional Japanese meal. "
