"We were here maybe 15 yrs. ago and the rooms were definitely more rustic. The updated rooms are simple, clean and cozy. The full and efficient kitchen was fine to make a nice dinner. The resort was winding down for the season and staff minimal and in late September the restaurant was closed so it was best to p/u food for breakfast and dinner. Minimal problems included the thermostatically controlled small gas fireplace that was somewhat erratic; sometimes the fan was too noisy at night. During the day the traffic noise made it difficult to enjoy the beautiful grounds, but quiet at night. Overall worth the stay to enjoy beautiful Hope Valley and trails on the property!"

"Room was a little warm when we got there and there wasn’t any way to turn the fan on but the windows opened and there were fans in the rooms. Once we got the temperature set it was fine. The rooms were great and it was a great place to stay. Not too close to the lake but the rooms were much cheaper than the others."

"This house is gorgeous and very well maintained. It was meticulously decorated and was a great place to stay. Check in/out processes were easy. The river is pretty and relaxing to sit by. Overall things were great. There is a little traffic noise. We did leave a night early because the bed was a little different than we are use to, no fault of the owner, just our personal preference."
