"Excellent staff, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient-particularly the reception staff. We were very fortunate to be given an upgrade-very exciting! This meant a canal view room which was lovely, much quieter than the front of the building. The hotel appears to be undergoing a programme of refurbishment and the dining room is much improved. Unfortunately the same could not be said of the breakfast. It was disappointing that there was only sliced bread available. The slices of cheese were hard and curled and looked most unappetising. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings and the walk along the canal into Skipton is a pretty one, where we saw jumping lambs, ducks, geese, swans and an otter. We always enjoy our stays here."

"A beautiful stay in a beautiful location. The spa treatment I had was the best I've ever had! My only niggles were the 2 hour wait for breakfast without any explanation or apology and the Cocktail lounge was more like a waiting room. Maybe move the newspapers to the smaller lounges as 'reading rooms'?"

"The room was very clean and tidy, food was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend Herriots for anyone stating in Skipton - and Skipton itself for a short break. For anyone taking a single room, try for no 20. I had coffee with the balcony doors open and overlooking the canal. Just great..."

"We couldn't believe the value for money with this stay, seeing the property and surrounding in person is really beautiful. Ann was so helpful before during and after our stay and even decorated the property for myself and my bridal party which was so kind. I couldn't recommend this place enough and we will definitely come back with family just for a relaxing retreat. A beautiful find, thank you for a wonderful stay "
