Staff fantastic and care about your stay. Only there for one night and on business, very comfortable. If you want peace and quiet away from a chain then despite some quirky bits would highly recommend. WiFi perfect

The room I was in was very comfortable. I slept really well while I stayed. The pizza is definitely worth a try lovely and fresh. The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. Will be returning

We enjoyed it from start to finish the reception we got was very friendly and informative. The room was very clean and well equipped and the bed was comfy. We had the pizza one night and they were the best we have ever had so would strongly recommend these. All in all an excellent stay.

Very comfortable 2 night stay
A very comfortable 2 night stay in Room 9. Staff helpful and friendly. Convenient yet quiet location for through routes, including motorways. Bed was firm but comfortable. Cooked buffet breakfast included. We liked this small Georgian country house hotel. It was good value.

One night stay in a modest single room. Very comfortable. Good setting, convenient for the M3. Fabulous home cooked pizza and a good buffet breakfast. Super friendly staff.

My family stayed for 4 nights using several rooms, this is an old Georgian house with lovely grounds. The exceptional thing about this place are the Staff, they cannot do enough, we were made to feel at home. Very dog friendly,

Wonderful stay at Hook House. Wonderful Pizza. Felt very much at home there. Slept better than I ever have anywhere else and that was with 30 degree heat. Winderful breeze through the attic rooms. Great shower too. Made me a sausage sandwich as I didnt have time for breakfast. Will definitely stay again

Very disappointing needs refurbishment.
This has the look of a country house but once inside it needs attention. It is also close to busy road so lots of road noise. Old worn frayed carpets on stairs, dark furniture everywhere. Our room was on the top floor and very cramped, it was extremely hot and the plug in fan provided was inadequate so sleeping difficult. The breakfast was disappointing with no fruit, honey, cold meats or cheese for anyone who preferred continental to a cooked English Breakfast of (overcooked) bacon, sausage, beans, scrambled egg and hash browns prepared and left in keep warm containers on a table. No croissants or pastries just supermarket sliced white or brown bread on offer. We knew this was a dog friendly hotel but wasn’t prepared for dogs sitting on the chairs in the breakfast room! My husband was bitten by a guest’s dog whilst having a drink in the garden, the same dog bit the hotel owner as well. Yet still the guest was allowed to let the dog in the restaurant (on the chairs) and in the garden off the lead. We are dog lovers but there are limitations about how much freedom they should have and certainly around areas containing food. Overall a disappointment, the staff are friendly but we wouldn’t recommend staying here unless of course you have a dog yourself.
