Thanks for your review. We can confirm that The White Barn definitely is a barn! It's just that it's not a barn in a field, but in a village - there are plenty of these barns evident across Cambridgeshire villages and in Hilton itself. The White Barn overlooks gardens to the back and trees that ring the manor house. Although we are near the road, Hilton is a small village with an HGV ban and soon to be implemented 20 mile an hour limit. We're glad that you found The White Barn to be such a good location for exploring Cambridgeshire!

We're happy to refund guests if they run into trouble and can't make their stay. Hopefully we'll see you in the future!

Thanks very much for a lovely review. The key safe is very helpful, it means you can arrive at any time after check in, even if it’s very late at night. And you can make yourselves at home straight away.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Hilton really is a lovely village to walk round - there's the Church just round the corner, then the Green with lovely thatched cottages and grand houses round it, and then the Common beyond. I hear that the Prince of Wales is doing good food these days, and it is nice to have a decent pub in the village. Re the cat - we do have one! But he's rather shy, so would probably only look at you from the end of the garden.

We're really glad you enjoyed your stay. We're really aware of, and frustrated by, the increase in traffic through our little village at the moment. This is being caused by the rebuilding of the A14 and traffic being diverted. We're hoping this won't continue too much longer, but meanwhile are looking into triple glazing as a solution.

Thanks very much for your review, and we're very sorry that you were troubled by the noise of traffic. You are quite right that this is due to traffic being rerouted temporarily through our village while construction of the new A14 is going on. We are all much frustrated by it, but it will be over within the next week. We're so sorry though that this coincided with your stay, but glad that you enjoyed your visit in spite of this.

We'd like to know where we have fallen down so that we can put it right, if at all possible, for future guests. The Barn is small, which we can't change, but if there's anything else we can do to make our guests' stay just right, we'll strive to do it!

I'm getting the plumber round to change the washers on the taps today and we should be able to replace the sofa cushions next week. Update: taps now fixed and new sofa cushions in place!
