"The location of the hotel is good; it's a fairly easy walk to many of the central sites of interest to tourists, and not far from the central business district. The breakfast is varied, though the hours are a bit limited for a late sleeper like me - breakfast closed promptly at 9:30 am on a weekday. I arrived late at the hotel on my first night - well after midnight - yet the staff were wide awake and friendly, which I really appreciated. The only problem I had was with the electrical power outlets in my room. For some reason, the plugs on my phone chargers fit very loosely, and I had some trouble getting the chargers to stay connected."

"Loved everything about it, except my room was too small for a three-week stay. The pictures do not show the true size, and I made a mistake of booking a small room. I will be more careful next time I book a room. The hotel itself was really clean, staff was really helpful, and I specially loved the way cleaning staff work. My room did not have the breakfast option. Laundry room was very good."

"My family had a terrible experience at the swimming pool. If you are a single parent and your child is of the opposite gender and over 36 months, they are not allowed to enter the changing rooms with you. We discovered this the hard way. The receptionist let my sister enter with her two boys (6 & 2) to go swimming, once they had finished and went to reenter the changing rooms, we were aggressively told he had to go via the male changing rooms on his own, we refused to leave him on his own and then matters got worse when my nephew (6) was physically touched by the lifeguard and then again by the receptionist who tried to physically remove him from the changing rooms. They shouted at us to ‘get out’. It was a very confronting situation, of which when we escalated to swimming manager Edward, he smirked and laughed as he didnt understand what we were explaining had happened. There were no signs, we were not informed upon check in of this policy and we certainly were not willing to leave a young child in a public space with strange men on his own. I wish this had been handled differently by the staff but they showed no remorse, understanding and my poor nephew (as well as the other children we was with) were left traumatised. Horrible experience."

"I spent a week at the Stanford in Myeongdong, in a superior double room, which was quiet, spacious and well-maintained. It even had a nice view of Namsan Park and tower. Aside from the wifi signal being a little weak at one end of the room, I have no complaints at all and would happily stay again. As many guests note, the hotel’s location is excellent, and its staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fine, but there isn’t much in it for those who, like me, are lactose intolerant and prefer to eat Western food."
