"We had 3 fantastic stays at the Riverte Kyoto Kamogawa. Very service minded staff that took good care of us from arriving to checkout. Room was spacious, nice and comfortable - and the hotel has a small rooftop terrace. Area is quiet and nice, but with a selection of amazing small restaurants close by. We will stay here again when we visit Kyoto. "

"Beautiful space with private outdoor soaking tub (for one person). It's a quiet space with the charm of authenticity. Don't expect the staff to have much English. We had some miscommunications and ended up relying on Google Translate. "

"Good and comfortable beds. Clean. Located in a quiet and charming neighbourhood. Okay location, close to two bus stops. There is a washing machine there, free to use, but it broke down when we tried to use it. It was a big inconvenience for us, and we did not receive any help when we asked for it"

"We stayed for 5 nights after a trans pacific flight. Location was amazing - 15 minutes walking to 3 stops. The tea service in the afternoon was lovely. Wish we had done the Japanese breakfast option more. Beds we're comfortable and staff was friendly. Great bathroom amenities and black out blinds. Shower was fine. I would stay here again - easy transport everywhere."
"The hotel is superb la!!!
1. Parking very convenient next door
2. Location 100/100 to be next to Kyoto Tower, rented our Kimono there and walkable to beautiful temple and places!
3. The onsen is good too, I particularly like the one with ice neck rest, 10-20mins only.
4. BREAKFAST is the highest standard for Japanese breakfast! Has Sashimi and all options!
5. Evening supper 9-11pm Ramen is good too, hearty
Not so good part: abit tooooo crowded and packed and touristy, and the shoe area can stink quite abit tbh..

"Wonderful clean room, kind staff, and fabulous Japanese set breakfast with garden view. Great amenities and good quiet location close to the Imperial Palace."
"The staff was very nice and very friendly and helpful as they all are in Japan.
The location of the hotel is very central so we were able to go into different directions for a lot of the tourist attractions that we wanted to hit.
The area is safe and quiet and peaceful and right across from the imperial Palace.
I liked everything about this hotel, except
The pillows
The pillows in many hotels in Japan feel like you are sleeping on padded bricks. I am not exaggerating, and I mentioned it to the gentleman in the front desk and he recommended that I wrap the padded bricks with bath towels.
Now they felt like padded bricks wrapped with bath towels

"This may be my very favorite hotel of all time. And I only say may to allow for the fact that I may be forgetting something. I can’t imagine, forgetting this. From the moment we arrived from the train station to the moment we sadly departed, every detail was thought of and accounted for. The staff are helpful and discreet, responding to every request as though we had simply asked them the time. This is the only unobtrusive turndown service I’ve ever experienced.
.
From calling taxis to arranging a Kintsugi experience, to deftly navigating a request to help retrieve some items left in a Tokyo hotel room, everything was absolutely seamless.
.
Bed was huge and comfortable, pajamas and robes lush, toilet, separate from the shower and private, and an in-room onsen built for two.
.
The pool is warm and mineral-fed, the grounds are breathtaking, and walking distance to Kinkakuji and some delicious sushi.
.
If I were forced to make a note, it would be that the Western items on the à la carte breakfast menu were not my favorite. But the buffet was great.
.
I would come back to Kyoto just to stay here."
"There are limited shopping options in the area and it’s a bit of a distance from the station. The capsule hotel is clean and elegant. I would recommend this for a capsule hotel experience. "
