"I really used to like this hotel as its in a beautiful location. I won't go back unless they buck there ideas up, check in was 4pm, room not ready after driving for 5 hours, no bar open and it's miles away from Inveraray, 5pm given a room key and found out it hadn't been cleaned. Bar opened 5pm my husband got me a drink and manager or owner (he turned up about 16.50 ) said by the time we had the drink our alternative room would be ready. We were not the only ones waiting at least another 5 or 6...

Glencruitten House

"Our stay at Glencruitten House was lovely. However, for the price there are a few things that did not exactly meet expectations. First, upon arrival we were offered a welcome drink to enjoy in the sitting room, which was very nice. But there was no direction for what we should do after. We were not offered assistance with bags at check-in, so we went to fetch our own bags after we finished our drinks. When we lugged in our bags we were told “oh someone could have helped you with that”. It was noted that no one proceeded to help us from the lobby to our room. There was also zero acknowledgement that we were celebrating our first anniversary. Not that we expected anything free— just acknowledging it would have gone a long way in appearing invested in your guests and making them feel special. On the whole, customer service just kind of seemed to be a bit lackluster. Additionally, the house just seemed to have quite a bit of touch ups/repair work needed (door on electric heater in bedroom was broken, lots of chipped paint on the walls, streaky paint jobs on windows where a second coat was necessary, sloppy paint jobs where paint was on window glass and door trims). Nothing was “wrong” with our stay, per se. It’s just that staff interactions and the space itself could have been much more polished and refined. Our experience was more in line with a cheaper accommodation."

"We had a wonderful stay at Ronebhlal B&B. The host was very nice and helpful with questions. The room was perfect. A big window with a perfect view of the bay. Super clean and very new and updated with great treats awaiting weary travelers. We loved it!"

"The hotel was extremely good value. Close to Oban town centre, fantastic views of Oban bay from the bar/ restaurant. The staff were very nice, helpful and obliging. The hotel has recently been taken over by Bespoke hotels and is being refurbished whilst being open. We were not disturbed by this at all. The hotel has been very grand in its day and it is tired, but we were very comfortable for our two night stay, breakfast was delicious. It was very reasonable given how much we paid for our stay."

"Hotel very clean room spacious and comfortable, bed a bit soft however personal opinion and still slept well, robe, slippers in room, tea and coffee making facilities with assorted teas and biscuits and complimentary bottled water. didn’t have breakfast but had evening meal, it was delicious and price very reasonable, location of hotel could not be better, harbour and train station across the road. Complimentary 30 minute steam and sauna, with two heated loungers, foot spa was not working but made use of the others, we indulged in massage and afternoon tea for two, ultimate in luxury massage tailored to our needs and afternoon tea takes account of dietary requirements, we were left to enjoy the afternoon with no rush in the comfortable lounge. The staff were really friendly with Summer and Hayden given special mention."
