Rushton Hall Hotel & SPA

"Staff were extremely helpful and professional the whole time. Our room was very nice & clean but a bit worn - the carpet had a lot of marks, and a few things needed a bit of repair like a loose window. I'm a sensitive sleeper and unfortunately the curtains did not fully cover the windows which let in light from the lamps outside in the courtyard. We had treatments at the spa which were very nice, and the spa itself was well set up. We did have dinner in the restaurant but I think it was very overpriced for some not particularly well cooked food - for £28 I would expect some really delicious pork and not need to order chips as well to be fed. Therefore we decided not to have breakfast in the hotel. There was a wedding on at the time and it didn't disturb us at all, but I suspect it meant the staff were a bit stretched. We did walk around the grounds which were very nice!"

"Comfortable spa hotel 10 miles from Cambridge. Friendly staff in restaurant. Ok menu for breakfast and dinner. Plenty of parking. The only negative was a very hard mattress on the bed."

"Receptionists were very welcoming, informative and friendly. We found all staff to be friendly and helpful. The bar staff worked extremely hard, and dealt with the volume of customers in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. Breakfast and service were very good, staff friendly and helpful. My only very small grip would be the quality of the black pudding, very poor and too thin to be called ‘black pudding’. I was very disappointed, as it’s my favourite breakfast item. Delighted with our room, very clean, well presented, lovely decor, everything worked really well, we especially enjoyed the powerful shower. We would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend this hotel to all our family and friends. Thank you for helping in making our stay a memorable one with our very dear friends. "The staff at Golden Lion were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was good quality and value for money. Although there is no parking directly at the hotel it is not very far away and very reasonably priced."

"Was clearly an old premier inn, they had started to modernize, will be great when finished. Booked due to the Wacky Warehouse, however it was closed about 2 hours earlier than advertised which left a sad child but the pudding in the pub sorted that out."

"The hotel grounds are lovely and it’s a good location but ideally need a car to get to and town. The rooms themselves are a little dated but spacious and comfortable. They were very clean but they are dark and need better lighting. We ate in the restaurant and my meal wasn’t the best but the breakfast was fresh and well stocked. The spa was clean and a nice addition but the men’s changing rooms were not great. The women’s changing rooms would be better with cubicles to change. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall a nice stay and would come back."

"Great place to stay, good breakfast only would have liked mushrooms with my fry up. There was a mug missing from the room, so my husband had to watch me drink my cup of tea!"

"On arrival a car with no blue badge was parked in the disabled bay to the right of main entrance. I gave the registration number and showed a picture to the person on the reception desk. He didn’t seem interested and said he thought it was a member of staff and it was obvious he wasn’t going to do anything about it. Unfortunately as a blue badge holder I am finding this becoming an increasingly common approach to managing disabled parking."
