Friendly reception
Margaret on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable but overall the hotel smells a little stale. Need to get rid of small plastic bottles of shampoo etc and get dispensers to improve eco rating.

Ideally located to wedding venue we were attending. Friendly reception staff made us feel welcome. Room was warm and comfortable.

Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Hotel is very clean. The rooms are very comfortable. Dinner was very tasty (excellent fish & chips and steak & chips, wide selection of gins). Have stayed before with two small dogs, and will definitely stay again as they really are pet friendly.

Convenient, comfortable stopover.
Comfortable bed and clean room. Hotel is located adjacent a main road but traffic noise was not an issue. Restaurant food was adequate but un-exciting. We did not have breakfast. The bar price for Port was incorrect in that a single measure was 25ml whereas it should be 50ml. Our a portion of our bar bill was refunded without question when I informed the hotel manager.

Room Lovely, Food Disappointing
The room was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed but the food was a let down. We were warned that they had a new chef and the old chef had left the kitchen in a disarray so the new chef was struggling. However the food was disappointing to say the least. I had a passable spaghetti bolognaise but my son had a practically inedible pizza which was very doughy and not fully cooked. Unfortunately there was no other choice for getting food anywhere else so the hotel was the only option for where to eat.

Check in was really good the front desk lady was very nice. The bed was comfy but the room was very cold. Bathtub was good for a bath. The $10 you pay isn’t worth it. The sausage was cold and hard the toast was gross. Yogurt tasted rotten that’s all !!

Overnight Stop on long trip using the A1
The hotel was well positioned for our overnight stop. Easy to find and park. The room was ready even though we turned up a few minutes before the 3.00pm check in time. Despite being close to the main road no traffic noise disturbed us. We had a problem with our TV which the manager did personally come to our room immediately and fixed it (it just needed switching off and on at the mains! The room was of good size, with two chairs and a table. Real glasses provided. Bed was a little soft for us, but slept well. Food in dining room was adequate, if we had been able to access a menu on line before hand we might have made a different choice. There is no lift to upper floors (only two storey), if we were to come again we would ask for a ground floor room. There is a lift to avoid the 3 or 4 steps from the entrance to reception.

Lovely weekend stay
Lovely stay, me and my friend came down for Leeds festival and the hotel was perfect for location. Room was clean, breakfast was enjoyable :) would come back.

Room could do with a lick of paint.Bathroom excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Need to travel for entertainment as in the middle of nowhere but that's not a problem. Most hotels near busy motorways are the same. I would definitely stay there again..

Broke our journey here as it was half way home and accepted dogs. It’s very well located, just off the A1. Staff on reception were absolutely lovely and the room suited us (and the dogs) perfectly.
