Dear Ena,We are extremely disappointed that you have chosen to give us a score of 2 based on the fact that you could not check in early or remotely even though check in times are clearly stated prior and at point of booking and in the booking terms. However thank you for highlighting our terms to anybody reading this review and looking to book when going to a wedding or event that requires a check in before 2pm or after 10pm as we cannot and do not offer this option We therefore always advise customers looking to attend an early event to book for the day before as well as the day of the event. We feel your review is also unfair and unjustified as you only spent a short time in your room as you simply picked up your key were given the relevant hotel information from our team and shown to your room and then left only to return in the early hours of the morning sleep in the large comfortable bed in your standard double room, then got up use the clean and well apportioned bathroom facilities and use the coffee pod machine in the room for a lovely morning coffee, then leave. You did not choose to have breakfast with us so did not enjoy any of our are delicious breakfast choices or the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of our breakfast room and excellent service from our breakfast team. You did not dine with us so did not experience the unique character and charm of our stables restaurant and any of the beautifully prepared dishes from our hard working and talented kitchen team. Neither did you have the time to relax in our cosy bar / lounge area and enjoy any of our great drink choices and attentive service from our friendly and professional front of house team.Finally in relation to the room rate you paid, we are very well priced for the area and indeed is probably the reason you booked with us but you only paid us 116.85. You paid Expedia 26.78 commission and paid 23.37 VAT which go to HMRC.Kind Regards,Jack GourlayGeneral Manager

I'm glad you liked the shower in your accommodation, it is a brand new instillation that our Head of Maintenance has worked extremely hard on, so I will be sure to commend his hard work. In regards to the ventilation in your accommodation, there is an extractor fan present in the bathroom that you mention, and the bathroom window can open fully to provide further fresh air and ventilation if needed, I do with you had made a member of staff ware of these issues during your stay, as we would have quickly resolved any potential issues you may have been facing. However I fully appreciate your feedback, and we will look to investigate on your comments and to improve where possible. In response to your comments regarding the location of your accommodation, all of our rooms are well appointed, and being a traditional 17th century Coaching Inn we do indeed have rooms located near the roadside, however this road is extremely quiet through the hours of the evening, and the rooms in question have ample sound proofing as well as an exterior decking space that acts as a barrier of sorts for any potential road noise. In response to your comments regarding the location of the Inn, we are located a mere 5.6 Miles away from the heart of St. Andrews, with plenty of public transport options available daily, including a local bus service that runs hourly throughout the day, making travel to and from the Inn very simple and hassle free. I am sorry to hear that you decided to shorten your stay with us, however you made this choice of your own accord, and you had access to the location of the Inn before placing your booking, as it is clearly visible on all booking sites, as well as the confirmation Email that you will have received upon placing your booking.I hope this will not deter you from considering making a return trip to the Inn sometime in the future.
