"For such an expensive hotel, I was disappointed that so many things went wrong just on a one night stay. When I checked in at 11:30 at night tired from a long flight, I was immediately asked to handover my passport or driving license as an identification. Not that I mind doing that, but the way I was asked, without a friendly welcome felt rather abrupt. When it came to leaving the deposit, two cards were rejected, that both turned out to have adequate funds on it, and then from my credit card that did work in their system, the deposit was taken out twice. Something the staff was reluctant to admit until I showed them my credit card app. When I came to the room, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, which is to say the browser window didn’t come up so that I could logon. I’ve stayed at many hotels where this is not been a problem, and I know how it works, so it was rather annoying that this was not working as it should. Breakfast in the room in the morning was another disappointment, because part of the order was missing. And when I called down to ask for them to bring the missing part of the order, I was made to feel like they were doing me a favour bringing it up. Once again, none of these things were the end of the world kind of problems, but really not something I expect in it five star or four star Hotel. When I asked when the deposit would be returned they said it could take a couple of days and that that was because of my bank, which is my experience with other Hotels."

"An interesting, ultra modern room, computer-controlled. Clean and adequately furnished for an overnight stay. Staff was nice and helpful. Self check-in and check-out a breeze. Yea, great for a one night stay and easy access to Schiphol. "

"For the price, it was very good. It’s the perfect hotel if you want to drive out of the city to other places like Keukenhof and The Hague, and close enough to Uber into Amsterdam for about €30. Very good quality hotel, let’s you leave your luggage in a locked room and has free self parking lot."

"This is a great place to stay when you arrive at or depart from Schiphol, Amsterdam. Great paths to ride bikes or walk on and you can get exercise before you take the plane or after departing the plane. Staff is terrific. Rooms are very quiet. We've stayed here several times and have had a great experience every time."

"Never a fan of automatic self check in. Simply a way to save on staffing costs but it is becoming ever more prevalent at “budget” hotels. Serve yourself food and drink too. I think it’s a shame but it’s the way things are going. The hotel was clean and tidy and what staff I did engage with were helpful and friendly. "

"I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. It was nowhere near the standard I have experienced at other Novotel properties. The bathroom was particularly unacceptable — there were visible faecal stains in the toilet. On the first day, when I took a shower, the drain was clogged with hair that had clearly not been cleared. The water drained extremely slowly and even overflowed onto the shower floor, which was quite disgusting. On the second day, the room was barely serviced. The bed was simply pulled flat, with nearly a quarter of the duvet inner left exposed and even touching the floor. The coffee cups were not cleaned, and there was no clear sign that other areas had been properly cleaned either. Overall, the hygiene standard fell far below expectations."
