"Parking behind main building is limited, we got the last space. Unfortunately our twin room was like an outbuilding in the car park and very cold (radiators didn’t work) with a lamp not working and a spot lamp flashing on and off. Reported to staff and they put an electric radiator in the room which took the chill off. They said they’d have to get an electrician out re the lighting problems. In the morning we could see that one of the windows didn’t close properly which would have contributed to the unacceptably cold room. No bathroom light switch from the bed furthest from the door, resulting in nasty shin bump. It felt incredibly basic overall and definitely wasn’t worth the price paid. Went to the bar to warm up but it wasn’t especially warm either and, disappointingly, no fire or wood burner. Bought a bottle of wine, intending to drink it with some bar meals but were then told the kitchen was closed (around 7pm). This was really annoying because we had not been told they were closing early when we checked in (it says 9pm online). Found ourselves walking the cold streets trying to buy food late at night, not the treat we’d anticipated. Awoken at an ungodly hour after a pretty sleepless night (hungry) by a car parking outside with its radio bass on full blast (staff coming on shift?). At 7:30 we were woken again by a bin lorry just outside. Breakfast was ok, a very pleasant waitress. Juice and coffee good. Pancakes clearly not fresh. Full English poor, esp. eggs. "

"The bathroom was lovely with a good shower. The room was clean but some of the furniture felt tired and dated. Paint chips and heat/water marks on surfaces. Overall, very happy, though."

"Very convenient hotel for access to town centre and riverside walk. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast had plenty of variety. The room was comfortable and clean. We often stay at this hotel and we are never disappointed. "

"THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL EVER "

"Location is unbeatable, but the units in this apartment are getting tired. Some things not working, beds starting to sag, crockery and cutlery was a hodge podge, and a blind came off the wall with normal use. But the worst problem was that neither the key fob nor code provided worked on the building exterior door and we had to wait outside for another resident to come along and let us in for the first day or so when we got a working code (the fob was never fixed). The host was contactable and pleasant, but based in Manchester so couldn't do much to help us. Also note that the picture in the listing is not of the unit we rented, but a different one in the same building."

"MAIN PROBLEMS SO BAD I SECURED A 75% REFUND THROUGH A USA CREDIT CARD REFUND FILING.Bedroom - Main Single Bed - Unusable. Never replaced. The other bedroom’s twin beds were too short and too narrow and next to shower with mold.En Suite Shower - Mold - Health hazard. Never removed.En Suite Extraction Fan - Mold Problem - Removed after a few days.Satellite TV - Signal Problem for All Channels - Never repaired.Rowing Machine - Landlord specifically confirmed by email before booking the rowing machine was available and working. Reality is the rowing machine had already gone at least a year ago. Flat/Apartment Decor - Online photos show very different and better decorations and linens. In reality, some decorations were even just missing, e.g. dried flowers in pots. Electronic Key Fob For Ground Main Door - Broken. Required to wait many times, extensively for strangers who's fobs worked. Eventually exchanged fob when building staff first available days later."
