"The overall experience of the hotel was excellent. All areas were very clean, it appeared recently refurbished throughout and all the staff were more than friendly and helpful. The food was also of a very high standard, good quality ingredients (apart from the bread at breakfast which could be improved) We normally eat dinner out but really enjoyed three evening meals in the hotel."

"Lovely setting - unique historical stay. Grounds were great with peacocks. Rooms were pleasant and bathrooms spacious. Hot water variable but it is an old building. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. However, the breakfast was disappointing - coffee was poor and was self-serve from a flask on the side (no other option offered eg latte, cappuccino etc), no defcaf tea available, limited choice of pastries, jams and fresh fruit. Had to ask for glasses, cutlery and plates."

"I can’t fault it really! It was all great, the only slight thing was my mattress was a little sunken in but this automatically got flipped without me mentioning it and then all was good again. I would appreciate a fan in the rooms if air con is not installed this could be an issue in the summer at the hottest days. Luckily we took a small pocket sized fan with us. Everything else was great, room and shower great, food great, staff friendly."
