Well...there was a coyote right outside the gate which I guess you can't help because they roam the streets of the Hills... but it freaks me out every time I encounter these creatures. I don't blame the hotel.
Anyhow, I do not like the check-in process and that there is no front desk. You check in with a QR code, and if you forget your phone, you're screwed because there's no one there who can let you in. So, in essence, you're best way of thinking is, don't leave the room without your phone.
On my first night, they seemingly didn't change the sheets (I didn't know this) and I was scratching all night long, so I had a very bad first night of sleep.
When the maid came the following day, it was an inconvenient time so I asked her to come back, she said no.
I called the number then texted and well, it's hard to get in touch with a staff person to help you. Finally they called back and I explained the issue, was told she'd be back, but she never showed. I called back and the manager came over. He was great, and I helped him change the sheets. He tried hard, very nice guy.
Overall, I don't think I'd stay here again. I don't think I should do the maid's job. There was a door with a squirrel-ridden balcony that I struggled to open; the runner on the floor was filthy.
I booked a room with a view, and what I got was a room with a tree blocking any view and if I twisted my head I could see a little bit of Hollywood.
