"Lovely surroundings but a bit of a walk everywhere as it’s so spread out. Good breakfast very helpful staff. Lunch at the boathouse was disappointing, much of our pre booked meal was no longer available, the vegan dessert wasn’t vegan and the children were served after the adults so were left waiting. The toad in the hole was actually a standard Yorkshire as served with the roast meals with two sausages plonked on top."

"Last minute decision to stay and it was nice to find a full size bath in the bedroom. Very comfortable bed and nice facilities. "

"Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, and although the bathroom seemed a little worn it was very clean. Breakfast was ok. The rooms we had were an upgrade from the ones we booked, I think. The hotel was situated in a lovely area, with walking available along the river and the canal, and a couple of villages close by, containing decent pubs and restaurants. I would stay there again."

"EV chargers not working - staff really unhelpful. We had to plan in somewhere else to charge the car which was hugely inconvenient. Also had to unexpectedly pay for parking. Bathroom wasn’t clean and had mould in the tile grout. Room was small and dated. Lobby area was nice and breakfast set up was nice. However £14pp was expensive."

"Don't expect to stay in the main house, you will most likely be allocated a double room in the garden wing. This though not externally impressive is similar to a Premier Inn in layout internally. All staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was okay, can be busy so you may need to queue in line. Restaurant i can't comment on as this we didn't use, bar snacks available from the bar"

"Room was clean, staff helpful. Enjoyed having air conditioning. Parking was easy. Location was great - we were able to walk all around the city centre easily and leave the car at the hotel"
