There are lots of little gems in Michigan City - New Buffalo and other towns in Michigan are lovely, but Michigan City has a ton of restaurants and activities.

It is a nice town that offers the lake, arts, community theater, some night life, movie theater, some shopping, and some nice restaurants and churches. It is a friendly community.

I lived in Michigan City for a long time. The area near the hotel is good. There are areas that are very sketchy and people should stay out of them. There are many great dining options and the beach is a nice place to spend a summer day.

We loved shoreline brewery and Freddie and Joes bar and restaurant, food was excellent and unique as well as the space itself. It's not a very pretty town in my opinion but it's close proximity to Lake Michigan and the National and state park make it

My wife like shopping at the Premium Outlets, so we come through a couple of times per year. There seems to be lots of dining options, etc as well. Probably not a tourist "destination".

Michigan City is run down in many areas. The beaches are pristine. The parks gorgeous. Food was good. Lots of variety to do things.

Lots of hotels and places to eat. We like to book our room there even when we are visiting SW Michigan beaches.

Loved the outlet mall, beach, town is a little dated. Beach needs better restrooms. There was one port a potty and I'm 38 and it was the most disgusting one i've ever seen.

I love being by the lake but having shopping,.Dining and brewery options.
"The property is right in the middle of everything which is so convenient!! Me and my youngest daughter stayed for 4 days and really enjoyed it! We went shopping, ate at a few of the local restaurants, rode the train to Chicago, and went to the beach! It is an older hotel so there's no elevator so keep that in mind if you decide to stay here, staff was great and the place was clean!! We will be back!! "
"Not bad. We enjoyed the price. Husband liked the breakfast. The place was clean as it could be with being in a beach town. We slept well and felt safe. Pool was kind of cloudy so we just didn’t swim in it. The mirrors were cool in the rooms! There were air tight covers on both the box springs and the mattresses which is one thing I look for at every hotel when looking for bugs, so that was good! Everywhere should have those! Overall it was a good experience. The lady at the front desk was really cool. Thanks microtel! "
"Host was great! Really clean and right on Lake Michigan beach. Cottage is nice and cozy for a relaxing time. We had a great time and if your looking for an amazing place away from the busy city life, this is the place for you. Will definitely recommend to family and friends."
"Was a comfy cozy spot to sit, relax, and just talk. The pull out couch was very comfortable. The most comfortable i have ever slept on. The fireplace was beautiful and functional. It gave off heat or just soft light. We drove to the outlet mall and 2 farmers markets. We had an amazing mother daughters weekend and will definitely come back again."
