Grand Hotel Excelsior

"Fab food including the excellent breakfast buffet - lovely to be taken to our table rather than scrambling for a table, excellent quality breakfast, friendly staff, delicious meal one night in the Admiral’s Landing. The hotel is a little old-fashioned and the dark wood furniture v comfortable if a little tired - with a random selection of wall art but the rooms and bathrooms are huge and there are enough plugs etc, though no USB points as to be expected. Pool good with plenty of sun loungers, a beach and sea swimming too. We had booked Tiki restaurant but a huge rain storm meant it had to be closed but we had the delicious meal at Admiral’s Landing instead."

"The hotel was funky but not too much. Absolutely fantastic restaurant and bar on the top floor where we had drinks and dinner. The staff was impeccable and nothing was ever too much trouble. We had particularly superb service from Lucia in the restaurant who helped us and our parents so much. Very generous. We also say a big thanks to Alexandre (we hope we spelled that right). He was also showed us boundless attention. Generally though the staff were friendly, engaging and really finished off a superb experience. Finally amazing restaurant and breakfast! Thanks"

"Breakfast was very poor, and I could not access the rooftop pool as there was no bar to hold on to and I have a knee issue. With that being said I could not fault the rest of the hotel and our room hit a hit tub on the balcony which was amazing."

"Really great location so easy to get to every where we wanted to go. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Smallish room but had everything. Clean and really good shower. Lotion, shampoo, conditioner and water replenished every day. Breakfast area a little cramped but breakfast itself was small but tasty."
