Alda Hotel Reykjavik

"We really found The Alda to be in an excellent location. Right in the middle of multiple shopping and dining opportunities. The breakfast was good. The room we chose was spacious and the bed was comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement would be to figure out how to have more light in the room. Even with every available light device on, we struggled to find things in our suitcases. So, we enjoyed our night at the Alda, got a good nights sleep, had a decent breakfast, and were helped by the very accommodating and friendly staff. I have no reservations in recommending The Alda."

"This guesthouse was perfectly located for walking in the downtown area. It was a clean room with two comfortable beds. There was also a shared kitchen available with a small refrigerator. Other than that it was lacking in amenities. The property description did not clearly advise that guests must share a bathroom with those in three other rooms in the same hallway. Also the water was sulfur water and smelled like eggs. There was no blow dryer or any body wash or shampoo."

"Its been 10 years since I've stayed at the Bus Hostel, and while I do like the renovations, them not having reception past 4pm and none at all on weekends makes it slightly difficult to check in online. Also considering, that most flights arrive outside of those times makes is a little frustrating. But I called the help line and it was sorted out fairly quickly."
