This hotel is like a secret gem that you want to keep to yourself, except that wouldn’t be nice. The location is great for walking around and exploring Reykjavík, parking is free and the rooms are terrific. HP at the front desk is so nice and welcoming, and seems to always be there. If you’re tired, you can have an excellent bowl of soup in the lobby for dinner. Very comfortable hotel. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I love the sitting room in the front very comfy area to relax after a long day. I do wish the restaurant had more food options for lunch and dinner as often as you get back you don’t feel like going back out to eat a meal.

When booking hotels in other countries you dont quite know if it will be where you want it to be. You can Google map etc. But never quite sure! Hotel Eyja was within q5 minutes walking g of the city center and EVERYTHING you want to do! Excursions we're able to pick us up at our hotel. And the hotel was clean and nicely done! Definitely will return here again if ever back in Iceland! Highly recommend!

With all the great reviews, our expectation was high on this hotel . It is a nice hotel close to the center ,street parking in front and back, which was nice. When we checked in the elevator was under repair so we had to climb 4 floors with our suitcases. The staff were very nice and helpfull , and we had a partial view of the bay. We did not use the breakfast buffet , since it was a litte pricy, but so is everythig in Iceland since pretty much everything is imported. ovrall I would recommend this Hotel .
