The restaurants nearby were excellent. The hotel is on a pedestrian only street. Difficult to get to as it requires a 10 minute walk with suitcases bouncing on a cobblestone street.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel is a bit hard to find as there are no big signs but we did. Right on the Main Street with shopping and restaurants nearby and easy walking to multiple bus stops.

Just had a 3-night stay at ION City. Staffs were all friendly and amazing. Location is in the core downtown tourism area of reykjavic so that could be pro or cons depending on what you like. It's a little bit loud outside especially if the room is towards the street, but window is reasonably sound-proof. One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay. Overall 4/5.

The hotel was great. The room was spacious and located on one of the main shopping streets, so there were many restaurant options nearby as well. The lady at the reception (forgot to ask for her name!) was the highlight of the stay. Her customer service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Totally amazing the staff went above and beyond for us. Found a room for us a let us check in earlier an even offered us champagne on arrival. The beds were heaven and was the center of everything. Totally recommend here.

Aside from having amazing staff, they had the best shower we have had in a hotel bar none! We travel often and it is so important to wake up and start the day off right, which you can do at ION city. Have an awesome shower then head across the street for a cappuccino and danish before heading out on your adventure.
