The Black Lion Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"I loved staying here! Such helpful staff, and a gorgeous room with the comfiest bed. Great location, and has a charming pub with great food (loved the crab risotto). Made to order breakfast with lots of options including vegetarian. One thing to note - my room’s window was over the front door and things get a little rowdy outside on weekends - nothing my air buds couldn’t drown out. Would highly recommend!"

"The hotel and location was spot on, really beautiful. The room was beautiful, very comfortable bed and great bathroom. Our meal in the evening was very good, but the breakfast not so much. Top tip - dont order the kippers. Would definitely visit again."

"This hotel has the best views in New Quay. We could watch the dolphins in the bay from the room. The staff were really friendly. The breakfast was really nice and very filling."

"This is a quirky place just off the promenade ,there are no staff at reception but an envelope with all details and actual keys to your room and front door.We could see the sea from the bay window and had a shared bathroom ,there are rooms with en suite but fully booked for our stay. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options,two cheerful girls cooking,no sign of the owners but it all worked smoothly ,also the eggs are from a local farm."

"We had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was excellent. Even though there were 2 weddings on both days we were there it did not have any impact on our stay. Excellent service by staff. Will be visiting again. Great location."

"I'm glad that I stayed at The Castle Hotel finally. It was very pleasant! My room was spacious and had nice views out of the windows, the bed was comfortable, the staff were pleasant. It wasn't right in the middle of Aber, so it was quiet (minus the noise from the car racing - but I had a great view for it). Easy walk right down to the sea. The only drawback was not having a lift, but that is pretty common and my fault for having a heavy suitcase! I would definitely stay again."
