"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. "
We stayed here in October for 3 nights - Myself, Wife and 3 kids (aged 8, 5 & 2). We had a family room which was massive with 2 large beds and a single bed. Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. While being reasonably priced, there was absolutely nothing cheap or lacking in this hotel. We forgot the buggy but the very kind staff sourced one for us so I could go away in the car on business while the family could walk into Athy town. We ate in the restaurant every day for breakfast and dinner and it was excellent too. The wildlife in the car park made the stay so much more memorable for the little one! 10/10 and we'd love to return some day soon.

"Mid week break"
Warm welcome by staff who conducted us to our room and informed us of facilities, dining areas and times of all meals. Staff were friendly and our dinner was superb, served in a lively bistro by well trained staff. Rooms were comfortable offering all that was required. Large beds, warm room etc. Open spaces and some corridors were a little cool but it did not deter from the overall comfort and friendly atmosphere of this lovely rural hotel.

"Good hotel but food not so good"
This hotel is about a one hour drive from Dublin, I didn't see any local transport into the city but as we had a hire car this didn't bother us. We found it easily enough although it did require driving on some narrow country lanes which I am not use to. As we arrived at 11am we couldn't check in straight away but the receptionist was very pleasant and advised us we could go and get something to eat if we wanted to. The room we couldn't fault, it was very large overlooking the golf course and with all required amenities (Iron, Tea making facilities, safe etc.) We ate in the hotel every night as there is nowhere local to go and for us this was a let down as the food was not as good as we would have expected for a four star hotel. We ate in the Elk bar as we didn't really fancy anything on the Lime Tree Menu, we complained on the first night as the food was not very good at all and the manager acknowledge this and was grateful of our feedback, on the second night the food was mediocre, we didn't complain as didn't want to seem like we were moaning all the time and on the third night the food was good . Overall I would say this is a good hotel with beautiful views, clean and spacious rooms very pleasant staff but the food really lets it down.

"Ell located and quiet hotel"
Good hotel in most aspects. Just be aware some rooms are located in a block not connected to the main hotel. The room we had in this block was massive and great but if its cold and raining then its a problem as there is no covered walkway. The same applies to the leisure club and fitness room. The day we stayed there was torrential rain which is why I mention it. The staff were very pleasant, the hotel and bedroom blocks had lovely pictures and antiques and the bedroom furniture looked expensive. Well worth a visit
