"While the room we had was clean and tidy, the general appearance seemed 'tired'. For example the laminate covering on the bedside table had blistered making it uneven. The bathroom was clean but the finishing needed to be redone, for example the sealant on the bath."

"On arrival, staff were welcoming and pleasant. Room was comfy but needing some TLC from maintenance. No towels so had to call down to reception, then later that evening we noticed no toiletries, tea of coffee. Informed reception who said they’d look into it but nothing….not even an apology! Luckily we had our own toiletries and went without hot drink in our room. Food was lovely although items were missing from mine and my husbands meal that were mentioned on the menu. All in all, a pleasant stay but seems like simple things are being missed which would make this stay better. Did not use the spa so unable to comment."

"Smelled of perfume trying to hide fish smell and mildew smell as soon as you walk into the hotel. Overwhelming fish smell from the restaurant. The elevator and all of the carpet smelled like someone was walking around constantly spraying cologne. Had a headache the entire time. The room was clean however they put us in a room with a slanted ceiling my husband who is 6 foot three had to sit down to use the toilet to urinate because the toilet was on the wall that was slanted. It is in an excellent location and the outside of the building is beautiful. I do not recommend the restaurant. We ordered fish and chips and a pizza. The pizza tasted like it was frozen from the convenience store. The fish and chips were decent, but not great. We did enjoy the afternoon, high tea but it wasn’t spectacular just decent. Never got down to breakfast just because the smell was very offputting. "

"This was the perfect hotel to stay in while in Aberdeen. The staff were very helpful with any questions we had. The location is ideal to seeing the city, while also within walking distance to the train station. The continental breakfast was better than other hotel breakfasts that required payment. Overall, can't recommend this hotel enough for travelers."
