The hotel is a warm, welcoming and tranquil space in a fantastic location. The staff are friendly and professional. The room was well equipped and the communal spaces are very well decorated and furnished.

Very dog friendly hotel
The hotel and staff were excellent and very accommodating. We stayed with our dog and the hotel is very dog friendly. The food was very good.

The location is the main thing - on the moor itself, surrounded by wonderful scenery. Otherwise, the rooms, amenities, food and staff were first class. Would certainly return to it.

Excellent stay. There were refurbishments going on which had a dlight effect on access and dining area. But the room was amazing, staff absolutely lovely food good. Our only slight complaint was thst we were in a room on the very top floor which was in the attic. Besitiful room but many stairs which we were not advised about on vhevking in. But overall fantastic place a d would not hesitate in re booking

Lovely location on Dartmoor National Park
A spacious comfy room with a decent quality mattress. Our superior double had a lovely bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. The duvet was too warm for me but it has been mild for the time of year. We had a lovely meal in the pub side of the restaurant. Breakfast was average and service slow but it was the 9am rush.

Lovely stay - just wish I found the hotel sooner!
The only disappointing thing is that I never found this place before!! I spend a lot of time for work in business and will most definitely stay here again. Very clean and comfortable with lots of lovely little touches such as pillow spray and the delightful rubber duck in the bathroom. Great food and service too!

A perfect stay 😍
We stayed for 1 nights B&B and also had an evening meal which we booked separately. Lovely room with an excellent view towards Torbay and over the patio and lawns. Great service with staff that couldn’t do enough for us. Good food, well presented. Couldn’t fault anything and already considering a return stay.

Really nice hotel, staff were friendly and helpful, great views for breakfast. You can hear water, movement and noise from other rooms, but you get used to it. We had a really nice stay overall.

Just wonderful!
We had a fabulous one night stay here. Staff were welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel was comfortable and is in a lovely setting. The restaurant served great food, and we were served by friendly, professional staff. Dinner and breakfast were of a high standard. Definitely hope to return in the future.

Excellent Hotel
Excellent Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent so much so that ate in the restaurant every evening. The room we had was lovely and we had a view out over the garden countryside beyond. I think the entrance to reception needs to be improved as it is not very welcoming.
