"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a small but nicely decorated lobby with adequate seating. We loved our junior suite, which had two bathrooms (one with a shower). It would have been nice to have a microwave, but it did have a mini fridge and sink in the living room. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job cleaning our room and providing fresh towels. We didn't use valet services, but the bell staff were very helpful with luggage storage and helping us with taxi and ride sharing needs. The hotel restaurant (Hoyts) was underwhelming and was more of a bar. But the wait staff were helpful and we did get a nightcap a couple of evenings there, and the Royal Eggs Benedict was delicious. Overall, the Royal Sonesta was a great place to stay. It was conveniently located to the theater district, architecture boat tour, and the big bus hop on/off, and we loved the views!"
"We were in and out of the city for a concert at Chicago Theater. No frills stay but a comfy bed. Wish the lights were brighter in the room. Bar downstairs was great and the area was walkable. Would stay again. Thanks!"
"The hotel is in one of the best locations in the loop. A mile south to the museums or a mile to the river walk.. or jump the train - the train is far enough away to not hear it!
Room was clean, appreciated the recycle water bottles and filtered water on the floor. Awesome overall - clean room, working fixtures, shower had great pressure, nespresso coffees made it a solid go to again. I had to work and the desk worked perfect with a screen under it to even extend if I had the need."
Built by famed 19th-century architects and renovated in 1907 by Frank Lloyd Wright, this early skyscraper is a great stop on a Chicago architecture tour.
