"We stayed for one night and loved it! The apartment is new, spotless, and in an excellent location. We really appreciated the free parking, as well as the thoughtful touches like tea, coffee, and all the kitchen utensils we needed. The beds were very comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. Our only suggestion would be to have a few extra pillows, but overall it was a wonderful stay and we’d happily come back!"

"This is an excellent house for a group of up to 12 people. It is spacious and spotless with comfortable beds and a very well-equipped kitchen, including two stoves/ovens and two sinks - great for eating in. "The house is a great layout although I feel that 2 TV's would be good for the downstairs living rather than having one in the master bedroom. We had a heating issue on arrival which meant the house was really cold and due to the type of heading ie underfloor it took a good 29 hours to warm the house up. "The stay included a free breakfast, which was good. A fair amount of options. Wish the room had a mini fridge to keep our drinks cold, but there was no option available. The location was very close to a bus stop which made it easy to get around. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was a little tight for the three of us, but it worked ok."

"We loved this hotel. Great location away from the busy city centre but still had restaurants nearby. We stayed in Oxford for the British Grand Prix weekend and did not have a lot of time to explore Oxford but really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Staff were wonderful and so friendly. I wish I had gotten the name of the sweet front desk lady because she always remembered mine and cheerfully greeted me whenever we returned from our busy day out. I have to give Josh a shout out who very early one morning provided me with a tray of coffee to take to my room since my fiancé and I decided to skip breakfast to get an early start to Silverstone. Very kind of him and he even offered to carry it upstairs to our room, although I declined as I didn’t want to put him out too much. Our room was the Trinity deluxe room. It was huge! I loved being able to open the windows for a cool breeze. Even with the windows open there was very little street noise. The amenities were wonderful. I always love having a robe and slippers provided. There was a small fridge in the room and an oscillating fan which was definitely needed since our stay was during a particularly warm summer weekend. The breakfast buffet seemed a little overpriced so for our last three mornings we went across Banbury Rd to a delicious little bakery called Barefoot for the best fresh cinnamon rolls and coffees. For lunch/dinner, The Rose and Crown pub on the same alleyway. We had Sunday roast at the lodge and loved it! 5 stars! :)"

Mercure Oxford Hawkwell House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"We were there during a heat wave and it was lovely to have a room with air conditioning! The staff was incredibly accomodating (thank you for being so sweet, Jasmine!), and the breakfast was lovely and suitable for guests with food allergies. The hotel's tailor theme is quite charming, and their location is away from the business of downtown Oxford. We took the bus into town when we needed to go there, which was quick and convenient. Even though the hotel was at full capacity when we stayed, our room was completely quiet."
