"Room is clean and service desk was pleasant but our room was not functional and not comfortable nor set up for a comfortable stay. We are used to small accommodations in London, but this room was not livable for any length of stay. You can find better at the same price or less, and with breakfast which this did not offer. They also wanted to charge us for occupying 1 hour early."

"Location was excellent for access to all public transport and to lovely Hyde Park. Staff was excellent. Having a sink, fridge, microwave was very useful for breakfasts, snacks, etc. I would definitely return!"

"I really liked the location of the hotel. A block or two from Paddington station. The hotel itself is older, quaint, clean, and the staff is extremely helpful and nice. The room is small and tidy, but who spends a lot of time there anyway? The bathroom is very, very small... almost airplane-bathroom-like. The shower is very small. I could fit, but my husband, who is 6 feet, about 165lbs, had a difficult time. I would recommend this hotel for a night or two. We spent one night because we were flying out the next morning and it was an easy trek to Paddington to catch the Heathrow Express. There is a great pub, The Dickens Tavern, right around the corner from the hotel that is excellent!!"

"I arrived early and they did their best to accommodate and provide a room as soon as possible. The staff is extremely friendly and the room was spotless. The hotel is in a great area that felt very safe. Definitely will be staying here again next time I’m in London. Highly recommend!"

Shakespeare Hotel

"The room was very clean but small. No central ac so had to use a small provided tower fan. Breakfast was not included but heard good things. The people in the reception were nice to help us figure out paddington station and optional routes with the strikes. The shower was small but powerful and hot which was good after long days exploring london. One downside was the hotel was noisy, typically when anyone used water in other rooms we could hear it. The biggest downside is I am pretty sure the skinny, shakey staircases are from the time of Shakespeare himself. But for the money and time spent the hotel satisfied our needs."

"The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Paddington, just steps from the train station, which made getting around London extremely easy. There are numerous restaurants, cafés, and grocery stores within walking distance, adding to the convenience of the location. My room was situated near a window and offered a pleasant view; however, due to the hotel's central location, there was a fair amount of street activity, which could be noisy at times. One disappointment was that the continental breakfast was not available with my reservation because I booked through Expedia rather than directly with the hotel. The breakfast, particularly the vegan options, was one of the primary reasons I selected this property. While that was unfortunate, the overall experience was positive, and I enjoyed my stay."
