Walkable to downtown, good restaurants, sites and the train stations. The rooftop terrace was a gem and we ended every evening there. We would go back."

"I was concerned about staying in Naples because 20 years ago I visited and didn't feel safe. But I can heartily recommend Il Convento. The location is parallel to Via Toledo, which is a busy shopping street, with a metro station just a few minutes from the hotel. It is safe (if you can avoid the psycho scooter drivers that are everywhere in Naples) and convenient for most things in the historic centre. The room was well equipped. Although it looked dated, everything was clean and in a good condition. Beyond that, the hotel provided extras that the more expensive hotel I stayed in afterwards didn't for example: slippers, a toothbrush and toothpaste, a razor, a comb and free bottled water. The shower was a powerful waterfall shower and it was heavenly. One of the best showers I've ever expereinced. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the tv, where the majority of channels didn't work. This may have been fixable, I didn't ask so I don't know. The front desk staff were very helpful and gave good advice for places to eat. Staying there in November, the price was excellent value for money, and I would have no qualms about staying there again if I returned to Naples."
