Montorgueil, a pedestrian district To enjoy the excitement of Paris, far from cars and close to major monuments, the Montorgueil district is an excellent choice. A very lively area of Paris less known than the surrounding areas. However, it is one of the busiest in the capital. The busy cultural and commercial activity of the surrounding areas is such that the streets are one after another being integrated into the networks of a neighboring district or another. Nevertheless, this is where everyone comes to walk and do their shopping. A large pedestrian area in the 1790s, the charm of the local streets combines with that of many shopping streets. The district is surrounded by the Saint-Eustache church and Les Halles, rue du Louvre, Rue Réaumur, and boulevard Sébastopol. The buildings are concentrated in the narrow streets, perfect for sitting at a table on the many terraces. Promenades à Bonne-Nouvelle Strolling from one store to another, be sure not to miss the entrance to the symbolic passage of the Grand-Cerf, rue Saint-Denis, a shopping arcade with a high glass roof and is listed as a historical monument. A remnant from the first half of the 19th century that survived the Haussmann-style metamorphosis and lamented by Aragon in The Peasant of Paris, it's a part of the enrichment of social life and the neighborhood's atmosphere. On Rue Etienne Marcel, curiosity takes you to the Tower of Jean Sans Peur, one of the last vestiges of the Middle Ages in Paris. The tower is built on the ramparts of Philip II Augustus and was part of the Hotel of the Dukes of Burgundy. Rue Saint-Denis is a symbol of Paris. It was known as the red light district for many years but it is now undergoing transformation, and traditional shops are appearing. Learn Montorgueil Montorgueil is a very lively area and has a particularly good metro service: line 4 races at Les Halles, Etienne Marcel and Reaumur Sevastopol, where it crosses the line 3, which also leads to the station Sentier. At the Châtelet station, you can take the RER A, B and D. In terms of shopping, Montorgueil has everything you need: small convenience stores, bakeries, general food stores, and, of course, a wide choice of restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay in Paris. The location was great. We had 2 families so the layout was ideal. I would definitely stay there again.

The apartment was actually two adjoined apartments, which worked perfectly for our large family party of seven. We had room to spread out but also have some privacy - the young ones were on one side and adults in the other. Being able to make some meals in the kitchenettes in the apartments was very handy, especially as cafes don’t open as early in Paris as they do at home, and having a laundry was great. The location was perfect - we walked to the Louvre area several times and there were lots of restaurants close by and a metro station or two. The place itself was very charming; although obviously not the most modern apartment it was very homey and I enjoyed the character and feel of the place. Perhaps a lamp in the ‘red’ apartment would be nice to avoid having to put the overhead light on. I would definitely recommend it for large family groups.

This apartment was lovely and so large. There were 7 of us traveling and it was very spacious. Very clean apartment. Lovely convenient area with many cafes. Host and check in was wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

We had an amazing stay. There were five of us, including our teenage son. David and Isabel were wonderful. Check in was very easy. The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood and with wonderful cafes. It’s located near major sightseeing locations. In the mornings, we enjoyed walking to get pastries and taking them back to the apartment to savor. We would explore Paris during the day, find a cafe for dinner and then return to the apartment to relax. The beds are so comfortable and the sleeping rooms are quiet. It is just like the description and pictures show. There were sitting rooms and well supplied kitchens. We were able to do laundry which was very helpful during travel. I highly recommend this property!!

This was our family’s first trip to Paris and we picked this historic older apartment bc it had the right amount of beds, bathrooms with toilets, and living space. There’s 4 BRs, 2 BAs, 2 LRs, 2 kitchenettes. We had read all the apt’s reviews and felt this would work for us (5 adults), bc we wanted to be able to be together, and not crammed into 2 small hotel rooms. For the price we paid we were really happy with this lovely older building. Granted, the rooms were smaller than the photos show but the windows are nice; and the beds were decent and comfortable along with the blankets and pillows. We ate out each day at the local patisseries and cafes, all within walking distance of the apt. The Monoprix was across the street, and we went every day to pick up water and other essentials. There were plenty of lights in the ceiling, and we could control the heat (we went from 12/28-1/3), and had good Wi-Fi. Note that the apt (there are 2 small apts as 1 unit) is up one flight of curved stairs from ground level and we did not use the elevator (extremely small). On our 4th day we finally found the light switch for the hallway, LOL! That was helpful bc, in wintertime it is dark in the morning until 8:30, and gets dark around 17:00. The showers were a bit of a surprise; the black and white one shown in the photos is quite tight; and the grey beige one was large but showering was a challenge bc of the showerhead and short curtain which allowed water to get on the bathroom floor. But there was plenty of hot water and the apt has lots of towels. If you want a fresh towel everyday, there’s a washer/dryer combo unit that was a little difficult to figure out, only bc we are not fluent in French. The apt is in a safe and secure area, the one BR faces the street so there is city noise, but the rest of the rooms are quiet. Isabella, the property manger was very helpful, before we came she answered all our questions, helped with all our requests and was extremely nice to meet us before the check in time, as we arrived before 16:00. The Metro stations are right down the street and we literally were at the museums and other tourist attractions within minutes each day! Overall, this was a great trip and Isabella and David were generous and accommodating; and this lovely apartment made our first trip to Paris enjoyable and comfort and perfect for us.

The apartment was somewhat grim, poor air circulation, lights didn't work all the time. Kitchens limited. No ovens, no temp regulation. manager couldn't speak English. very confusing. I guess thats what you have to pay for a apartment for 7 in good location in Paris but thought for $9K for 8 days it could have be more modern and crisp.

David is an excellent host and did a great job with everything. He is one of the reasons we were able to get out of France before the lockdown. He even offered to give us another week in the future to make up for our shortened spring break. Even though the circumstances were not ideal with covid-19 it was a perfect location and we can't wait to come back and enjoy the best of Paris.

The property was everything and more. David met us promptly, even though we were several hours early, and showed us all the ins and outs of the apartment and the neighborhood. The weather was a bit cold in March, but we never felt it in the apartment, and the steam heating was completely effective. This was not our first trip to Paris, so we weren't in a rush to see all the sights, and we were able to unwind during the day when shopping and relaxing got too taxing. This is David's neighborhood, and we would run into him on our shopping trips to the Monoprix and the boulangerie. He was effusive with his help and was a warm and inviting host. We are already planning a return trip. A Bientot, David

Our family of 4 (2 parents, 2 teens) stayed at David's property. It was close to the the Metro stop, great restaurants, and people watching. The apartment had everything we needed, and David was available with advice and recommendations. The kitchen was well appointed, although there were so many excellent food options (of course, this is Paris!) that we only cooked breakfast one morning during our 1 week stay. The upstairs apartment, which was part of our rental, was perfect for the teens. It gave them some privacy and independence, not to mention a great view! We hope to return next year. Thank you Dayid for your hospitality!

David was a great host who meet us at the door and gave us good information of the area. The play was vice nice looked like the pictures. Check-in was easy. It was a very close walk to metro and there were so many good Cafés near by. I would definitely book with David again.

For those that want to "live like a local" - this is the place. The flat, in a beautiful historic building, is spacious and perfect for couples traveling together or families with older children who need some private spaces. The upstairs rooms are like a second apartment (with kitchenette and a view of the Eiffel Tower!) and that worked out really well for us. The flat is located in a central area close to some amazing restaurants, specialty markets, coffee shops, myriad shopping options and easy transportation (Metro, taxi, Uber) as well as a good launching point for simply walking to anywhere in the city which we did a lot of. It's quiet, safe and David is a really nice and attentive host (but only as needed). We really enjoyed our stay and didn't want to leave!

This flat was perfect for our family traveling with our adult children. It allowed for time together to eat and unwind after a day of sight seeing but provided some separate space in the upper bedrooms. Location is great to allow easy walk to major attractions and museums yet far enough from the crowds to be relaxing at the end of the day. David was a perfect host and helped us get oriented on our arrival fairly early on Christmas day

David. Was wonderful is a really nice guy. The place worked out great as we had 3 couples - both our sons and their partners stayed upstairs and had time away from us (parents), but we all were able to eat downstairs and have family time. Plus the upstairs had a great view of Paris at night out the bathroom window. Would stay here again. Location was convenient with metro stop just a few hundred feet away, plus it was also within walking distance of many tourist sites. Food and shopping nearby as well. Always a pleasure to spend time in Paris!

We enjoyed our stay very much and our host was extremely nice. The apartment was exactly how you see online. I would just note that if you have small children you would not want them sleeping in the separate area upstairs. You need to go out a door to a common area, up a flight of stairs and down a hallway. It is basically a complelty separate apartment. My ten year old did not want to sleep up there even with his sisters who are 15 and 13. So he ended up in our bed the whole week! Great if traveling with another couple or teenage kids so they can have there own space. Great location!!!!

David met us at the door of this lovely two story flat. He was a gracious host from beginning to the end and helped us get acquainted with how everything worked in the building and our own apartment. We were close to several metro stops and the Monoprix was right across the street for convenience. The flats were spacious and comfortable and quiet, which is necessary when you need to unwind after being in the city streets and metro lines all day. The two flats are separated by a floor, which is great for individual privacy. And a little bonus is, you can see the top of the Eiffel Tower from the upstairs bathroom! Overall, beautiful place, spacious, great location and the host is kind and helpful.

The apartment was perfect. Perfect location! It was very accurate to the listing and we absolutely loved staying there. Will stay there again next time in Paris.

10/10

Our family just returned from a wonderful week in Paris. We stayed in David's beautiful flat and loved it. We used the metro and walked everywhere and the apartment location was perfect for that. With three bedrooms the teenage kids each had their own room and a little distance from mom and dad with the separate entrance. The apartment was well furnished and had everything we needed. Great to come back at night and relax after a full day of exploring, eating and shopping. David's associate, Alice, met us when we arrived and gave us the tour. Both David and Alice were very responsive to all our needs. Thanks for the great Paris memories!

We loved this apartment; it was very clean, the beds are comfortable and David the host is very helpful and friendly. All of the equipment worked and we had a fan for each bedroom. The bedroom in the main area is comfortable and all bedrooms had loads of hangers. Although the main bedroom may be considered small it was actually just perfect; there is storage in the hallway for suitcases and the like which then leaves the bedroom clear on either side of the bed. The apartment faces a courtyard and so there is very little to no traffic noise. And overall it was very quiet; occasionally you'd hear a bit of talking from other apartments but it was minimal and never late at night. We were there in the heat of the summer so we kept the windows open. The other two bedrooms and bath are out the door of the main apartment up some stairs and through a corridor. So entirely separate which my 16 year old niece loved! She got to see the Eiffel Tower light up each night through her bathroom window! The location is incredible, easy access to the Metro and many restaurants; it's a short walk to the Pompidou. It's quite lively near the apartment but again, no noise at night. We also appreciated the elevator! Look no further, this apartment is worth evey penny!

10/10

Close to alleys with many restaurants, metro stop. Across from Monoprix. Comfortable, cozy room on 5th floor. No strep noise (faces in towards back court).

The apartment is clean, comfortable and well equipped. David was very helpful, meeting us at the door, telling us about the neighborhood ( the nearby bakery!), and how to get about. The metro is across the street and immensely convenient and easy to use. We appreciate David’s help when we needed taxis for the airport and for the longer trip to Giverny. We were here with our 7 year old granddaughter and the apartment was perfect for us. We would be happy to stay here again.

David was very helpful during the check-in and check-out process, even going the extra mile when we hit a transportation snag. The location in Paris was perfect for us, easily walkable to nearby favorites and very convenient to the metro and the Monoprix around the corner for groceries. We are a family of 5 with 3 teens, and our older boys stayed in the upper apartment extension, which worked well for us. Highly recommend this apartment with David!
