You get what you pay for, it’s simple but clean and comfortable. Food is plain but well cooked. In short it’s an excellent stopover and we would be back without hesitation
Lovely hotel and staff. Stayed here and delivered a training course

Arrived quite late, but received a hearty welcome and smile.
Evening meal again was close to kitchen closing but cooked and well presented
Good breakfast and welcome in the morning and wished well with onward journey
Lovely quiet village location just a few miles outside of Penrith.
Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.
Food was fabulous !
We were a party of 5 adults and all said we would stay here again, and would happily recommend to family and friends. Thank you for a great stay!
What a lovely family run hotel. Ideally located in a quaint little town of Edenhall. Food was lovely and service excellent. We stayed in room 16 which is situated on the top of the hotel with 180 views of the lovely countryside! Surrounding areas are accessible by car ie Pooley Bridge Ullswater only took us 15mins. I would recommend this hotel if your looking for a relaxing getaway in beautiful surroundings!

Shower was faulty,no hot water.Full English breakfast was a little bland but service was good.
The apartment was excellent for our adult family of 5-plenty of room.Nice part of the country.Wifi worked well which is important fro younger persons and my wife.
I wish we could have stayed longer. It was such a sweet little place in a lovely hamlet. We stayed in the apartment for one night. I would definitely recommend the apartment for an extended stay in this area of England.
We enjoyed our stay in the lovely tranquil setting with friendly staff who gave good advice about places to visit. Only complaint was the music in the bar area which was more suited to teenagers rather than over 50's which was the age group of clientele during our stay. Would recommend to friends.
I had telephoned to say that I might be arriving later than their advertised check in time. They assured me that, as a result of my call, there would be someone there to book me in. As it turned out I arrived at a reasonable time and was greeted in a very warm and friendly way.
Dinner was freshly prepared and served piping hot as was breakfast.
The building is not modern so there are creaky floorboards and the sound insulation is not the same as in modern buildings.
The room was very clean and comfortable and I would definitely stay there again.
One night stay - Room was fine (good bathroom), rest of the hotel was also OK - decent honest place to stay, unpretentious, definitely not flashy (reflecting the Penrith are perhaps). Staff moderately helpful. Other guests quite chatty and friendly.
A lovely B&B, attractively and simply decorated, excellent bed for a good night's sleep. Our host made us very welcome, gave us local information including the best pub for dinner. Breakfast was good and binely served.
Pro's - nice countryside location, friendly staff, clean room, large opening windows overlooking fields, nice bar.
Con's - food very average, restaurant service slow.
Only stayed one night. Would stay again.
Comfortable hotel with good food and friendly helpful staff set in a peaceful environment.

Nice hotel, really friendly and helpful staff.
Nice hotel, really friendly and helpful staff. A bit overpriced in my view for a fairly standard room, bed etc but the excellent staff means I would stay here again.
Great location (10 minutes from M6)in a small English village surrounded by fields, fells and farms. The hosts are brilliant and provide great service. The fish is to die for.
The bar is used by the locals who were very friendly unlike some places where they treat you as an intruder.
I do try and stay here if i can get booked in, its very good for access to the M6 & A66. Good breakfast and friendly staff,I had a slightly different room this time as the Hotel was fully booked out so not as comfy and quite as the usual one. I love it here, even the local cockral who is a great alarm
