The tranquility and quality of the environment, the accommodations, and the food were exceptional. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. They savored their role as guides into the culture and traditions that they offered. While it was a very traditional experience, the facilities...

Onyado Nono Kyotoshichijo Natural Hot Springs

Onyado Nono Kyotoshichijo Natural Hot Springs

8/10 Good
"Note: this is a traditional style ryokan meaning no shoes beyond the reception area of the building. Socks are provided to wear in the building. Great location just a 5 minute walk from a JR and subway line entry point. Busses heading towards all the major tourists attractions also meet on the same block as the hotel. Onsen was excellent after a long day of walking. Free soba between 9:00 pm and 11:00 pm, free ice cream all night. I took at least 5 a night. Staff were great, free wash and 100 yen per 30 mins of drying. Only cons for me: housekeeping does not change garbage bins unless specifically requested. They didn’t swap our yukata’s for the same size on a few nights and gave me women’s L yukatas instead of men’s so I needed to ask for new ones. Not a huge deal, just a phone call. Beds and pillows are firmer than I’m used to but that’s just a preference thing. Wifi is shared across the whole building, so it can be slow at times."
