We booked the park view superior room for about 45% off (The AFTERNOON/EVENING receptionits was soooo nice and very professional! She even gave us a map/magazine of Portsmouth with great tips, directions and recommendations. Thank you so much!) The MORNING RECEPTIONIST was the one that put me off during our stay. I won’t elaborate but the “extra attention” she gave my boyfriend made the rest of my stay uneasy and uncomfortable.
It’s actually an amazing hotel except for a few issues— the door to the bathroom is a sliding door, and it was incredibly hard to slide as it was too stiff. Same goes for the door to the room— it’s not sliding but it was very hard to push open or shut. My boyfriend says the lights are too bright, but for me it’s OK. Also, his side of the bed does not have a bedside table.
Continental breakfast at £5.50– not enough options especially if you have special dietary needs (i.e. diabetes).
Location is incredibly good— close to shops and the D-day Experience, Clarence Pier, Southsea Castle, and bus stop to city centre. Dockyards and Gunwharf Quays is about a 15-minute bus ride.
