Let me start with the property itself. It was clean and very well maintained and manicured. Now on to the rooms. The rooms were nice and clean. I was very disappointed in the cleaning staff though. Although we left tips for them, in which they took and even though I left a note in what we were needing replaced, I had to go to the desk several time to get the items delivered to the room. Makes me change my mind about tipping. Now let's talk about the staff. Check in went smoothly although there were a few staff that seemed annoyed when I would return to receive information or need help. The staff at the a' la carte restaurants were inattentive and rude to our group, and we felt it was because we were Americans. The other tables around us of different color and accents would get taken care of before us even though we had been there first. It was also like this at the Swim Up Pool Bar. All I can say is that we will never return to this resort or the Dominican Republic again. If you don't look and act like you have money, they will ignore you. There was very little entertainment and although we could go to the Splash Park, which is for the younger people and RIU Party (which is nothing more than a hook-up club) there is nothing much to do especially since the sargassum was so bad. This is just my opinion, and I am not a picky person but if I am going to spend my money at your resort I do expect a little more respect than what we got.
