"We found all staff so friendly and helpful. Entering the hotel gave a feeling of relaxation comfort and homely. Variety of food choices giving tasty evening meals and breakfast although I thought it too much to charge an extra £10 each for a fried breakfast whereas other hotels it’s included in the room cost. Our room was very comfortable with a superb shower"

"The Bear of Burton was a perfect location for our two night stay visiting the New Forest. We were lucky to receive a complimentary upgrade upon arrival which made our stay even better. The bathtub in the room is a perfect addition when you’ve had long walks throughout the day. Food was lovely and the rooms themselves were absolutely spotless. I wouldn’t hesitate to return and recommend this lovely hotel."

Our guest room was well decorated with good paintings and carved woodwork. and The recliner chair with a footstool was both notable and comfortable. The large sofa was also comfortable. Our balcony with a view of fields beyond would have been a place to relax in on a warm day. The full English Breakfast was both good quality and ample food."

"The location is fantastic, within walking distance of the town centre where there was plenty to see and eating places for a reasonable price. The marina was also within walking distance and very beautiful. The hotel is very good but the rooms could do with a spruce up. Excellent wheelchair access and the staff are very well trained in all aspects of service. The food in the restaurant is also superb. The full english breakfast appeared to be cooked to order and was beautifully fresh when served. For a relaxing break with nice walks and easy to other restaurants you couldn’t go wrong. Would definitely consider going back."

"We enjoyed a wonderful four days at this property. It's a proper home with real soul. Lovely artwork on the walls and everything you could possibly need. Looks better in real life than in the photo's. The location was superb. Great to soak everything in from one of the balconies and just a short stroll to the beach for early morning swims. We parked the car and didn't use it again until we left. We walked into Christchurch one day, got the ferry across to Hengistbury Head for a big coastal walk and also walked along the beach to Highcliffe Castle another day. Beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Amber was great and we'll definitely be back for another visit!"
