We had a great time at Castle Cottage, the owners Martin and Emma have created a superb holiday house with everything we needed for a short break. It was peaceful during the week we were there and the car parking was straight forward to work with once we’d sussed the system out. Would recommend as a base for exploring Richmond and North York’s.

We have stayed in quite a number of holidays cottages and this was certainly one of the best. Really comfortable, everything we could possibly need was provided and it was immaculately clean. Such a great location too next to the castle, plus Richmond has everything you could need a very short walk away.

We loved every minute of our stay at castle cottage. It has everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. A very thoughtful hamper left for your stay and the owners couldn't have done enough for us in making sure we had all baby items etc, travel cot, high chair, bed guard and stair gate. They even have plastic plates and beakers for the little ones. We will defiently be staying again. Thak you so much.

This house is stunning and we really appreciated all of the little touches. The location is brilliant right next to the castle and Richmond itself is a great town with plenty to do and see.

Exellent cottage in the middle of town. Very welcoming owners, cottage has every facility you could wish for. Parking wasn’t a problem as we spent the days out exploring surrounding area, so we where ok using the parking disc provided. Beds super comfy and cottage very quiet despite being in the centre of town. Loved being gently woken by the church bells. Highly recommended

A beautiful cottage in a great location in central Richmond. Couldn't be any closer to the historic castle and just a very short walk to the Market Square. A great location to enjoy Richmond and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside.

What a beautiful place! From the moment we walked into this cottage we felt relaxed. The cottage has been restored to an extremely high standard. There is everything you could need and more. The welcome hamper was a lovely surprise, especially because they had thought of our dog too. I was also pleased to see a coffee machine! Clear instructions on how to use everything had been left, along with recommendations of places to eat. Parking was no issue as we paid for a weeks parking and left the car in a nearby car park. There was nothing to fault at all. The cottage is a perfect base for exploring the local towns and villages and Richmond itself is a lovely town with plenty of eateries to choose from. We can't wait to return. The only downside was having to leave!

10/10

Lovely property, beautifully restored and furnished, spotlessly clean and ideally situated to enjoy the amenities of Richmond and as a base to explore the surrounding countryside. I really cannot find fault with Castle Cottage - except I fear it may have spoiled my expectations of other holiday cottages! Emma and Martin are very attentive to detail and eager to ensure that our experience was positive. Lovely personal touches included a personalised welcome message, a generous hamper of treats (even our dog was included and provided for) and an addressed dog tag to loan for the week. Richmond is itself has a number of very good restaurants, a very inexpensive cinema and swimming pool at The Station, a couple of very interesting and welcoming museums, fascinating hourly tour of the Georgian theatre and lovely local walks as well as being a very pretty and interesting place to amble around - and of course the cottage is literally outside the castle gates. Despite being located just off the busy market square we experienced no disturbance whatsoever. Although there is no allocated parking we had no problem finding space nearby with the £15 weekly ticket being great value for money as it is valid not only for Richmond but in the extensive district of Richmondshire (we were even able to use it in Hawes, a 45 minute drive away). We also found all of the local folk to be very friendly and obliging. 10/10 all day long!

Lovely cottage situated in a prime location. Didnt have much bother with parking as we went out of town most days and those we didnt we just shuffled the car about every couple of hrs, always found plenty of spots. Cottage was brilliantly equipped with all mod cons, but still kept its cottage charm. Well recommended

We have stayed in many cottages in Richmond and this has to be the best. So much thought has been put into people enjoying their stay. A lovely welcome pack and a personal message. The cottage was so well equipped and a great central location, really home from home.

The cottage is full of little luxuries and the owners have put a lot of care into making this a special place to stay. Although there is no long term parking at the cottage it was never a problem to find somewhere free nearby. Would definitely stay again, felt very spoilt and would happily move in.

Castle cottage was a beautiful place to stay, like a home from home. Decorated to a beautiful high standard. Tucked away right next to Richmond castle, but everything you needed was around you. Lovely place to stay, and my mam enjoyed her hamper which was left for her 50th birthday. Very clean and tidy, loved it.

We had a lovely stay at Castle Cottage. The cottage is decorated to a high standard and cleanliness was excellent. The location of being right in the centre of the town with local amenities on our doorstep was ideal. Loved the beautiful welcome hamper, dog treats and special celebration cards. Would love to stay again in the future.
