"These are the perfect old time cottage motel rentals. Rooms are basic, but have everything you need with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Lovely pool and diect beach access via property stairs over dune. Vacationers are friendly, sitting outside on their own front porches. Feels really safe for family and dog friendly!"

"Booked the last room available at late notice. Located in Manteo which is away from the beachiness of the OBX but conveniently located to get to things north and south easily. Manteo has a cute downtown and things to explore on its own. The hotel is a historic house and inn that has been totally updated. The rooms are nicely appointed and the hosts are accommodating and friendly. Because it is in an old house (at least our room was) the stairs are narrow and there are a few creaks in the floor. Nice front porch and fire pit area. Net-net — nice, unique place away from the beach.. would stay here again! "

"Front desk friendly and welcoming. We loved the things they offered. They had wine social hour at 5pm with cheese and crackers. Cookies came out at 8pm. Breakfast area was nice with good assortment of breakfast items. Hotel was clean with pool and great view. Hotel also right on beach with restaurants and shops close by. We will definitely go again. "

"Booked the most expensive room ocean front and really enjoyed our room until we heard alot of jumping around and thumping cpming from roomabove us. After waiting an hour for it to stop we called down to front desk and she said she would call the room above us. Hour later still non stop thumping called again and she said the people said they were not making any noise. I went upto third floor and did indeed seen a family with two small children coming out of the room. We asked for a different room which they graciously gave us but no longer have full ovean view. The rooms are clean spacious I recommend asking from r a third floor room only."
