Shop in a vintage market for antique cameras and home goods. Take a walking tour of the famous Colosseum or stroll through a large public park and admire ancient sculptures. The Colosseum is a short walk from the centre of Rione Monti. Take a guided tour and learn the history of this giant oval amphitheatre. The structure is considered one of the greatest architectural achievements in Rome. It was built in the 1st century and used in ancient times for public spectacles and gladiatorial contests.

Find the Parco Del Colle Oppio, a historic park in Rione Monti. Here, the ruins of Roman Emperor Nero’s golden house were rediscovered. Though many of the monuments are in a state of disrepair, the park is still regarded as a significant archeological site in Rome and a peaceful place to relax.

Wander through the calm streets of Rione Monti. Peruse bookstores and organic markets. This area has numerous local art galleries and vintage clothing stores. At the historic gathering area of Piazza della Madonna dei Monti, admire the two-tiered Renaissance fountain.
