"I was shocked how this hotel has changed for the worse. £10 per luggage item for storage is a rip off. Never had to pay before. Also £20 for a check in earlier than 3pm when the room is ready is also a rip off, so you get charged either way unless you want to carry your luggage with you. Room facilities were shocking - one capsule of milk, no hand towels and electric sockets that were intermittent working. This definitely is not as good as it used to be and we have stayed here many times. Even the 'Hudson's bar' has gone from a sumptuous cocktail bar to a poor and expensive bar with tacky stools and tables and shocking service - not like it used to be. Will will not be back!"

"Reception person (Boris) was not helpful when i requested a room with an oxford street view and he claimed that the hotel fully booked for the next 4 days! However the next day i want to the reception desk and managed to get me an oxford view room. "

"I loved everything was close and clean what I didn't like as much you have to check in by yourself it was a bit difficult as an older person but manageable"

"Everyone is special at the Strand. Staff takes pride in their work! Although the rooms are small, it is still good value for the area. It’s in a fantastic area to walk the themes and visit Big Ben along with shopping on Oxford! "

"Acoustics in reception could be better. The distance between me and the person behind the desk was quite distance, coupled with the fact that it was quite echoey and there was background music. I don’t class myself as hard of hearing but was really struggling especially when staff are quietly spoken and have an accent (I’m from Italian background and good with accents). Just something for you to consider (I checked in at 10pm if that helps)"
