It's a beautiful lodge to arrive at.
As guest in the outer accommodation be mindful the old architecture stops here. However, the rooms were soaps spacious and clean and over looked the extensive grounds.
The cottage "Posey" was lovely, cool in the summer air as well as the shower was large enough for my boyfriend size.
The reception lady had a kind welcome and smile, gave great directions to our cottage.
Will happily return for longer visit to explore the grounds
We were really impressed considering how affordable our room was. It wasn't in the prettiest building but it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The estate itself is stunning and the house lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch with a huge selection of nice quality food. We stayed with a 2 yr old and a cot was smart up for us on request. Staff were kind and understanding. Really good all round.
All staff were very welcoming & helpful. Room was clean & tidy & the restaurant was very good, great breakfast choice. Would recommend & go back again.

Misleading
The photos of the property end up staying in student accommodation around the back of the house
Also, they said they have a restaurant which is only available for people that are hooked on courses. You can’t order food at the restaurant.
Fantastic grounds and friendly staff. The room was adequate if a little small, so it was reasonable value for money but not great. Glad we stayed but would likely look for an alternative next time we're in the area

Beautiful space and great value for the one night. Staff were wonderful and breakfast was good. Unfortunately it was quite hot, and there is no AC. They do supply a small fan and windows do open, but this also meant bugs were able get in from outside.

Good friendly and helpful staff. Nice conservatory where a group of us had dinner. Attractive lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Attractive grounds with walks. Accommodation in the garden cottages was up a steep hill but there was always the possibility of being given a lift in the golf buggy which we took advantage of. Good plentiful breakfast, self service, Continental and cooked.

The name and photos in the accommodation did not feel reflective of what was offered. The building my accommodation was in looks from the 70s/80s, which really contrasts to the 'Estate'. Within the accommodation the decor feels tired and basic. Perhaps that reflects the price, but I personally think you get much better value for money at a Premier Inn. This was all amplified by the fact that my room had barely warm water in the shower and the heating didn't come on at all. Cancelled the other stay I had booked. Pros are that the grounds are lovely, and the bed was also comfortable.

Would not stay again unless cottages or main bldg
Comfortable bed, decent enough bathroom, building itself left a lot to be desired. Very noisy - could hear every heavy sounding footstep above me (at 6 am) conversation from other rooms and every electric ping of people entering main door, people coming in late and leaving early made for short nights of sleep. Decent breakfast and gorgeous grounds with plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the views. Staff welcome and professional, older building would likely be better than the flimsy 60s refurbed uni halls type accommodation. Have booked the cottages before and they are lovely. Motto is you get what you pay for?

Pleasantly surprised considering the price and some of the reviews.
Worried on arrival as there was a wedding booked which we didn’t know about. It didn’t affect us in the end and we couldn’t hear it from our room.
The room was clean and comfortable, it could do with upgrading to air conditioning though.
Breakfast was nice and plentiful.
The surrounding grounds were nice to sit in and walk around.
