Beautiful, old, slightly quirky but charming property - excellent staff and great food, can't speak highly enough of the place, may well return to Tonbridge Wells just to stay there again, but the town has plenty going for it too..

Be aware !
Everything was fine till we found out my cash was taken from my carry on bag! The whole pile of $100x10 USD! Very disappointing and upsetting! We made a police report in the Kent police department! They have contacted us but we doubt anything will come out of this as there were no cameras outside of our room! We were out if our room the whole day so there was plenty of time for anyone to enter our room! Our first experience at a bed and breakfast and needless to say a very disappointing to say the least ! I normally put valuables in the safe however, we didn’t one the night before ! We were informed there was one in the room under the coffee machine! Very upsetting and felt violated !

Hello Hormoz,Thank you for staying with us.We are incredibly shocked to receive this serious accusation, which is slanderous to our business.I would like to note that you have made this allegation with no proof, and unless you find that this did occur on our property, I should remind you not to make a statement of such severity.Over 6 years of trading such an occurrence has never transpired at our establishment, and we hope it will never do so.As you state in your review, this is something you have reported to the police, in which we are fully committed to assisting in every possible way regarding this matter and although we are deeply sorry that this has happened to you, you cannot assume we were involved with it.In addition, you supposedly found the money missing on the evening, we find it strange that you only brought it to our attention at the time of check-out, with such concern we are surprised that it was not mentioned either that evening to a member of staff or when you came for breakfast before checking out.We are sincerely sorry for this inconvenience during your visit, but it is disheartening to receive such an allegation to something which was out of our control, and we would ask if you could consider modifying or removing your review, as it is inaccurate and harmful to our company.Regards,The Mount Edgcumbe Team

Very friendly hotel and we were upgraded so always a bonus. Stayed for dinner which was good but breakfast was delicious. Will be returning next year 😁

The Mount Edgcumbe was perfectly adequate for our one night stay. I would prefer more choice at breakfast and a more 'help yourself option'. Waiting for staff to ask for more coffee was a bit lengthy.

Really enjoyable stay. Staff were lovely and made us very welcome, fitting us in for a meal at short notice. Gorgeous food and the room was beautiful. Very convenient location for Tunbridge Wells and surrounding attractions. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful stay with great food & great hospitality
I travel to Tunbridge Wells for business a lot and have stayed in most of the hotels in the area. The Mount is by far my favourite, beautifully decorated rooms with a boutique feel and a fabulous bar and restaurant. The rooms are compact but cozy and the breakfast is always delicious

Don’t judge a book by its cover.
Lovely comfortable modern rooms and great breakfast. Quiet area and friendly staff with a really easy scenic walk into town. The hotel looks a bit tired as you arrive but it is fully done up inside while maintaining its character.

Excellent hotel - wonderful ambience and friendly
I think this has to be one of my all-time favourite hotels. It's in a perfect location for The Pantiles. It's quirky and individual, beautiful rooms. The service and staff are great. I will definitely stay there again.

Small independent charm
Lovely stay at this beautiful boutique pub with rooms. Ate in the restaurant in the evening which was delicious. The room was compact but perfectly laid out with lovely little touches and a unique style. I visit this area often for work and have stayed in many hotels in the area, this is by far my favourite. Look forward to returning soon

Lovely welcome, rooms are small but well designed and deco is lovely. Comfy king size bed. Room was hot, air conditioner too loud and window could not be opened. En-suite small but well designed and good shower. We ate in the evening and the food, beer and service was good. Breakfast was excellent. Would stay again and recommend.

A little slice of luxury
My wife and I got married in Tunbridge Wells this bank holiday weekend. We stayed in suite 2A of the hotel for 3 nights. It was a beautiful, spacious suite and was perfect for the bridal party to get ready in. They even left us a nice bottle of prosecco as a wedding present. Our guests occupied all the other rooms also and they all left as happy as we did with their stay. The staff here were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was lovely too. We had the unfortunate luck of breaking down so had to wait a very long time for the RAC to come. However, the Mount Edgcumbe team were more than happy to let us sit around and wait for the best part of the day. Thank you for your hospitality.

What a lovely little place!
We loved everything about our stay at The Mount Edgcumbe. The place was absolutely charming, the food was good and the service was impeccable. It is very well located and even with a busy restaurant and bar, our room was very quiet and peaceful. And I couldn't believe how comfortable and soft the beds were!

Would happily stay again!
Brilliant hotel stay with a unique charm unlike larger chains. Compact, stylish bedroom with nice extra touches like freshly baked biscuits in a jar, nice tea selection and great quality soaps/shampoos in the bathroom. Breakfast menu is cooked to order, making it fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

As our first night as newly weds, we both were very surprised at the hotel! From the outside it doesn’t look much, but when inside, it’s cosy and well decorated. The room it’s self was fab! Cosy, but to a high standard. Everything was new with a decent sized shower, coffee machine and comp shortbread biscuits! The food in the restaurant downstairs was amazing, recommend the pie hands down. Absolutely loved it.

Quirky but nice
Mount Edgcumbe is situated on the edge of woodland away from the centre of town. Parking is an issue because the space is limited, and people come to eat at the restaurant. The staff were friendly and, when my wife left her coat behind, they forwarded it on to us at no charge, which was a nice touch. Our room was very nice, and we were well looked after.
