"A delightful stay to celebrate my aunt’s 80th birthday. Perfect afternoon tea with a card and celebration dessert, delicious dinner and breakfast the next day. The grounds were superb for walking and exploring . The rooms were quaint and comfortable. A really lovely visit. Thank-you!"

"The room was so nice, comfortable beds. The gym & pool were fairly small but still pleasant. The staff were very kind, in particular on reception arrival and for our evening meal. Lovely breakfast selection. Overall, really lovely experience for my teenage son and I."

"Helpful staff. Arrived early , wasn’t an issue in this occasion. Room basic but clean and great amenities, iron and ironing board , hairdryer. Bed perfectly reasonable. Bathroom very clean . The only thing that maybe an option for future solo female guests( & I know this is whole political area) is to ask if they are happy to have a room on the ground floor . Would definitely stay again , when visiting family in the area . Easy check out "

"I didnt know what to expect, cos of the mixed nature of previous review. However, I was surprised. The hotel is old, obviously but they have done their best to keep it clean and tidy. The hallway to my floor was a bit dank, but it could be due to anything. The room however was very clean, comfortable I dare say. The rug could be changed but it was not an irritation. Everything you need for a basic room was there, including an Iron. So yes, I was surprised. "

"Warm and friendly welcome. Have stayed here previously. All areas are very clean.Bed and pillows really comfortable.All the staff....and the locals very welcoming and very friendly. Parking permit easy to use. Had breakfast and a few evening meals, would recommend."

"A lovely setting by the river, fantastic outdoor seating area. Friendly staff and great sized double room. Personally i found the mattress was very hard but a very enjoyable stay."
